The Living Works of Art Challenge

Gentlemen,

This has been a fun little conversation, but it is time to get back to work. You all knew this one was coming. Challenge #4 is: "The Thinker" by Rodin

Have fun.

Ladies, break out some more wine and enjoy.

Nice job on your version JRP. It's like you know what the next challenge is before it happens. Are you psychic?

Before you start screaming for more interpretations, like H, I'm travelling for a couple of days but once I'm back home I'll think of something to post.

Cheers

Of course, mine is already prepared (how do I do that?).

I tried to come up with something clever in post processing, but in the end decided to go pretty much straight up with this one. Straight up and zoomed in. Wait, that sounds bad . . . not like that . . . just look at the picture.

Love it! :rose:

Phew, glad I'm not the only one who is likely to be delivering late...! :D

That's just beautiful, JRP. The shadows, the glint of a ring, the definition in the chest/abdomen...

But my favourite part is that powerful shoulder. *swoons*

(Saw this one (or one of them) in Rome in the Medici palace more than fifteen years ago, gorgeous. A temporary exhibition, I think. No crowds, no queues, you could walk right round it and gaze from all angles. And the Burghers of Calais were in the garden, too!)

I am honored to have such a classy lady enjoy my efforts. And even a swoon!

Lover The Thinker and Rodin. The Met in NYC makes me happy. There is a hall of Sculpture. Just magnificent. You can stand above it in another hall to take pics. I have and will be again next month!

Glad you approve of the choice. Any other sculptures in the hall that you think are worthy of us replicating?

These are all so good. Keep up the great work!

Thanks on behalf of all the gentlemen who are contributing

Ah, yes, I have some amazing powers. You know the longer you wait, the longer I have the ladies to myself, right?

Love that you love it

How long does it usually take for subsequent loads?
I like this idea for the thinker. And you look fantastic too.

Thirty minutes for heavy loads. No waiting if I'm doing delicates by hand. :D
Thank you.

I just noticed the out-takes thread, but we never thought to keep those. Maybe later. For this one, I tried to bronze myself a bit to match the statue, and then I had to wonder, what is The Thinker thinking? It occurred to me he would think someone is sneaking up on him from behind. Then I imagined he could be thinking about where he left his pants. Finally, I realized that Rodin left out some props and that the guy was thinking while doing the NYT Sunday crossword. What do you thinkers think?

Excellent renditions Glendale. Personally, I like the crosswords one. I imagine the ladies might prefer the "pants" one for obvious reasons.

Feels like I just walked around the statue. I always like to see the spin you put on the pics and I love the crossword idea.
I hope you and your photographer are both enjoying the process as much as we are enjoying seeing the results.

I love this picture and adore this thread! Thank you!

Thinking: How long before my second load is ready?

You can come do my laundry any time! Nice job!

Nice to get a good notice from one of the lead art critics, so I must be ready for taking this to Broadway.

Seeing your pics always drives me closer to that insane edge, but I'm learning that I feel the same from getting your reactions to my pics too. Thanks for both feelings.

I'm the lucky one, and thanks for looking and making a kind comment.

Wonderful tour around The Thinker and through his thoughts. My favorite is the crossword puzzle. Gorgeous hands and feet, you. :rose::kiss:

Laundry never crossed my mind when you said 'load', but that's not the point....you made another great spin on a classic wilderness, thank you!!
