The Living Works of Art Challenge

Had to check the link to know what that was. OK, I see H and Numi, Rogue and . . . is that Lizzie by the water? So I see how it is, I get left out . . . no respect for the thread host

Wait . . . maybe Icy and I are frolicking somewhere off frame? :D

Don't worry JRP - we'd find a way to include you! It's the least you deserve for starting this excellent thread... :)

I've been trying to persuade Numi that we (collectively) need to recreate Le Déjeuner sur l'herbe :)

I'll just sit in the corner and twiddle my umm... thumbs.;)

Why don't you five pretty people get to it and I do you? :D
By doing, I ofcourse mean take pictures.

Can I help? I'm really good at . . . um . . . twiddling things.

OMG *swoon* Lizzie offered to "do us!" Oh, pictures . . . yes, of course . . . that's what I meant, too

...and with thanks to Icy and HonourableRogue (and no apology for the mandatory 'u' in the latter's name :D) for the suggestion:

Also, 'complimenti a tutti' for some fantastic renditions of this challenge, you are all an inspiration!

H...

I agree with the other art critics that this is a great work. As for everyone being an inspiration, I'll drink to that, just like in the pic.

Are we doing the full nudist version? Or just the ladies? Aside from the obvious reasons I vote full nudist since I don't own any clothes close to what the guys are wearing. And I say we flip to see who gets the cane.

LOL. We've got wine, beautiful women and song JRP. We're all from the generation that was taught critical thinking, manners and how to share. I'm sure we'll work something out.

See! H understands and supports.

I've seen some of your... thumb twiddling. Twiddle away my dear. *click*click*click*

That seems both unfair to you and us Lizzie. I have another idea. How about we take turns pairing up and do a series of shots featuring two of the couples? The only issue is do we follow H and Numi's cultural style by appointingba Queen and letting her decide the pairings or do we go for a vote? We could always go pro wrestling style and just tag in and out. What do you say guys, wanna take on the ladies in a tag team match?

Icy is a grand master (or is it grand mistress?) twiddler. I think everyone would benefit more if she taught a class. *hands H and JRP cameras*

Lizzie is a friendly and giving lady and likes to "help" where she can and by "help" I mean be 'friendly' and 'giving' (or maybe 'naughty' and 'taking') so it's no surprise she'd volunteer to behind the camera. Just as it's no doubt the guy not in the photo will volunteer to be behind her and 'help' out.

I look forward to making Le Déjeuner sur l'herbe come to life.

Cheers

So, by my reckoning we all need to adopt appropriate poses in front of a green screen while Lizzie takes our photographs and Icy 'helps'. Then someone with artistic talent and a great deal of patience will combine them all into a single picture.

Sounds fine. Should probably only take a couple of years... :D

The image turned out magnificent H and Numi! Icy gets most of the credit. She spends more time checking H out than I do (but we're even on Numi ;)). I'll accept the 'u' without batting an eye H. I'm a huge fan of the English, the Scottish and the UK in general (even the sheep shaggers :p). Also, genetically speaking I'm 75% Great Britain so I can add a 'u', swap an 's' for a zed, say hache with the best of them and get funny looks from the guys when I call them a bell end.

I do like the "Let me see the artistic men of Lit" thread far more than I did its predecessor. I think we all owe JRP a glass of wine and a toast.

Oh...

I wonder if would could get Numi, Lizzie and Icy to pour wine while you, JRP and I lounge around? Doh! But who will take the photos?!?

Cheers

P.S. No disrespect intended to the Welsh.
I should think not, i'm part Welsh, not telling you which part though :D
Looking forward to seeing more Works of Art displayed here. ;)

My entry

Of course, mine is already prepared (how do I do that?).

I tried to come up with something clever in post processing, but in the end decided to go pretty much straight up with this one. Straight up and zoomed in. Wait, that sounds bad . . . not like that . . . just look at the picture.

Wow! Straight up and zoomed in.

Looks perfect as is. Very thoughtful.:D:rolleyes:

An excellent start JRP! Now where did I put the camera....:D

This is one of my favourite bronzes ever. I liked your rendition. The lighting again adds a delightful definition to your muscles.
 for a great picture.
And one more  for coming up with what is my most favourite thread here.

One of my favorites! I love that you zoomed in on this, it makes it more intimate.

Very, VERY nice JR!!!

Wonderful photo, JRP. Zoomed in is perfect.

Why thank you Icy1 . . . You know, I never understood your moniker. You are always so warm and friendly and you look hot.

Yup, you and Numi need to get busy . . . and also take a picture. :D

Actually, the close up was kind of an accident. I meant to set it up with a wider view. I adjusted it after this one and took a bunch more, but somehow none of the others looked as good.

Very nice first entry to get everyone thinking.

Thanks. Looking forward to MrG's entry.

Ahh, Mara, you snuck in while I was thanking the others, so you get your own special thank you!

That's just beautiful, JRP. The shadows, the glint of a ring, the definition in the chest/abdomen...

But my favourite part is that powerful shoulder. *swoons*

(Saw this one (or one of them) in Rome in the Medici palace more than fifteen years ago, gorgeous. A temporary exhibition, I think. No crowds, no queues, you could walk right round it and gaze from all angles. And the Burghers of Calais were in the garden, too!)

Yay! More pics to look forward to.😀😄
Lover The Thinker and Rodin. The Met in NYC makes me happy. There is a hall of Sculpture. Just magnificent. You can stand above it in another hall to take pics. I have and will be again next month!
