So what's gunna happen when the op gets to the narrow bit of the Chinvat bridge?

Was Jesus talking about real people, or was it a parable with fictitious characters? I say the latter.

Since He uses their proper names and makes many other references to hell than this and never indicates that this is a parable in any way, I would say that these are REAL people. Abraham was a REAL person. Lazarus was REAL person. The Rich man was a REAL person. What indication would anyone have that this was not referring to a real event? It gives lots of details of the situation.

So if you believe that the things written in the bible were real, do you believe that the Noah's Ark story actually happened?

I absolutely believe that Noah's Arc actually happened. That's why there are flood legends in just about every ancient culture in the world because there really was a flood and they all had the same Grandparents.

There actually was a gulf between the saints and the lost before the resurrection of Christ, the saved went to Paradise and the Lost went to Hades, there was a gulf. After the resurrection of Jesus, He took the saints that were in Paradise up to heaven. The reason that they couldn't go to heaven before this was that His sacrifice hadn't been given to the Father yet for their sins. The animal sacrifices that they performed were only temporary and only covered their sins until the perfect sacrifice Jesus came and gave His sacrifice for all time, for them that are sanctified in Christ.

I think Noah's secant would provide a more direct route.

You believe 8 people with no boat building experience, built a ship that was approximately 65% the length of the Titanic.

These 8 people (that according to biblical scholars, lived in the Mesopotamia region of ancient Egypt - an area not known for having forests) and cut down thousands of trees with primitive copper axes and transported each log (which probably weighed a couple tons) to the building site. They shaped each raw log (again with primitive hand tools that they did not purchase from their ancient Home Depot) and assembled a massive wooden boat within their lifetime. And even though this boat had no steel supports (since steel wasn't invented yet) and they knew dick about building sea worthy vessels, the ark was able to be sea worthy for the year the supposed flood lasted.

Here's a pic of the replica ark that was built in Kentucky.

http://main-designyoutrust.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/3-34-990x554.jpg?iv=73

Fun facts:

It took a thousand craftsmen with modern tools, heavy equipment, and vehicles over 4 years to make. And they needed to use steel supports to make it stable (on fucking land) which again, Noah and his family had no access to.

That's pretty fucking unbelievable since master boat builders in the 20th century built the largest wooden schooner of the age without steel supports (The Wyoming). The boat in particular was about 80% the length of Noah's mythical ship. This modern boat made by ship builders sank. Since there were no steel supports, the boat was subjected to torsion due to the waves and its massive size. It would twist & bend and it uncontrollably took on water until eventually, it sank. PS: The Wyoming had mechanical pumps to constantly pump out the water that seeped in and IT STILL SUNK!!! Again, that boat was smaller than the Ark and it was made by MASTER SHIP BUILDERS.

You also believe that these 8 people were able to house, feed, and clean the stables of pairs of every animal (including dinosaurs). That's pretty fantastical since the average zoo has dozens of zoo keepers that tend to a fraction of the animals that Noah & his family would have had to take care of every single day FOR A YEAR. They were able to store enough food for the animals for a year including the predators that ate meat (which is pretty impressive since I'm pretty sure Noah didn't have a way to refrigerate meat so it didn't spoil over the year long voyage.) That's pretty impressive logistics since 99% of the animal species that have ever lived are extinct. It's also impressive that animals from Australia like koalas & kangaroos were able to swim across the ocean in order to get to the middle east. Also impressive is that a pair of super-slow Channeled Applesnails from the southern tip of South America managed to crawl all the way to the middle east in time to get saved (they also can't swim btw).

You also believe that all the plant life that was submerged for a year in salt water was able to start growing again after the waters receded.

You must also believe that somehow god somehow managed to flood the earth with 5 times the water on earth (which is what was needed to cover up all of the land masses). Let's say your fantasy was real and the entire Earth was covered with water, that would have dramatically changed the air pressure of Earth. Noah, his family, and all of the animals on the ark would have drowned with each breath they took.

You must also believe that god killed every man, woman, child, and innocent baby that were not on the ark (which makes God a pretty cold-blooded asshole...especially when it comes down to drowning babies).

It makes you one of the most gullible fuckers on the Lit boards.

The reasons scientists & archeologists believe that dinosaurs were killed by dinosaurs around 65 million years ago is because there is evidence backing it up. If you go anywhere on the planet & dig into the ground, you will eventually hit the K-T boundary:

A layer of Iridium which is rare on earth but rich in asteroids. They've even found the impact site by the Yucatán peninsula. No dinosaur fossils are above that boundary line.

Now, if Noah's biblical flood actually happened, there would be evidence of it everywhere on the planet, the same as the K-T Boundary. There should be a sediment layer...unfortunately for your delusional ass, that layer does not exist. It doesn't matter where you drag your delusional ass across the earth, you will never find any physical evidence of that flood...ever!

On another note, I noticed that you didn't have a response to my previous posts about Jesus sending isolated tribes that don't know he existed (he didn't btw) to hell.

What gives? Don't have a plausible excuse why Jesus would damn those guys to the Christian hell even though they've never heard of him.

Because reasons
Because mysterious ways
Because you just hate god and want to sin
Because those tribes chose their fate of their own free will
Because don't challenge belief with annoying little things like facts, valid logic or critical thinking
Because god is awesome and you don't understand the bible
Because you're not a believer
Because shut up
Because lalalalalalalalaIcanthearyoulalalalalala

Sacrificed himself then resurrected? What a fucking hypocrite. I wouldn't buy what he's selling...

To be more accurate:
Sacrificed himself to himself after impregnating his mom with himself, to provide a ritual blood-magic sacrifice in order to set aright the evil act of acquiring moral knowledge in defiance of himself, because that's the only way the omnipotent, omniscient being which created everything, rules everything and knows everything can demonstrate how it loves its creations, otherwise said creations will have to suffer torment for eternity.

Because said omnipotent being absolutely cannot just forgive it's creations for being what they were created to be as that would be beyond it's power.

:)!!!!

Fuck.

Still laughing.

You don't go anywhere after you die.

Consciousness requires a brain, death is final.

If Jesus is still alive, where's the sacrifice?

He died, was beaten to a pulp, nailed to a cross, run through with a spear, beard torn out and killed, then by His own power He rose from the dead, proving that He is God. He went and presented His innocent blood to the Father and that was the sacrifice for our sins.

And I have some ocean front property in a desert for sale cheap.

Again, ducking the question of why an all-powerful. all knowing deity who "loves us" can't just forgive an individual for being the individual said deity knew that individual would end up being.
