Both Obama and Clinton acceded to this and both turned efforts to getting actual relief into the state while they waited for the go-ahead to come in. Against a request, Trump showed up for ten minutes in his "Make America Great Again" baseball cap (Retails for $25 and probably was made in Guatemala), gave a nasty political speech, and made it to both Minnesota and Virginia later in the day. There is a rumor he gave money, but rumors of Trump giving money usually don't pan out until/unless the press shines a light on "the check hasn't arrived."

But you didn't bother to check out what was actually happening, did you? Probably because you knew you were full of shit on this.

A corollary to this is that it's fun watching posters who plug away at making government smaller and reducing taxes and declaring that they can go it alone so the government should get off their back being the first to cry to the federal government help and relief in a natural disaster--and to expect the help to be there "the day before the disaster."

This applies in spades to the Republicans on Benghazi. They repeatedly voted down requested money to upgrade embassy security and then slammed the administration on inadequate embassy security.

She (or her campaign, at least, under her name) sent out mailings and posted to social media a detailed discussion of where to send money and supplies to where it was most needed. I got hit three ways with it. I suspect you just don't want to see evidence of anything that doesn't support your prejudices. The bottom line is that she, like the administration, checked out what the relief people in Louisiana wanted/needed on what time schedule. She didn't run down there for an electionairing photo op, tying up resources, and then fly back out again an hour later. The governor went on the air and directly said why Obama hadn't shown up in person yet and to complain that Trump ignored his request not to show up yet. I'm sure you played the three monkeys theme while he was attesting to what he had requested.

You just rerun footage of Trump being Trump in front of the camera--on almost any day. (Of course, there have been days that Clinton could more effectively just shut up too.)

I meant years ago. Libs as a rule do a terrible job I find of smear jobs. We essentially left Hillary to fight this battle alone on the back of "it could have happened to anybody" and not digging any deeper than that.

No seriously when have I said anything positive about Trump? I don't even call Hillary the lesser of two evils, I might not be in love with the woman but I don't think she's going to be a disaster of any sort.

The Clintons have released their tax returns, and have shown that their charitable gifts amount to more than 9.5% of their AGI.

Donald Trump can play the game of donating to specific causes, but until he releases his tax returns or otherwise provides evidence of his charity, the Clintons have the upper hand.

I've googled for two days in a desperate bid to defend Hillary and can't find anything suggesting she's done more than tell people where they can donate.

Why should anybody pay more than the $100 bucks I've given, because some of us are millionaires who can spend more.

Until I have proof that Trump did not donate I accept his claims at face value. I wish I had claims that Hillary had done a damn thing because I'm getting pounded on this issue.
