I sent a feedback to an author. It required my email and entering a code, which I did. When I submitted the feedback, it popped up again with my email and another code to be entered. I thought i had sent the feedback but now I'm wondering if it was a preview and I should have entered the second code too ?

Yes, I had read a story and left a comment. i wanted to give the author a little more detail so I clicked on the author's name which allows you to send feedback. I put in my email address as required by the author, added the code and sent the message. The message popped up again with another code, it may have ask me to review before submitting ....just as it does before submitting a story.

Suggest the system just didn't like your version of the code and was asking you to try again. These codes can be deceptive and sensitive.

Not to mention that the e-mail feedback has been broken on and off for over a year now.

The feedback system should send your message the second time (it will ask for the second code), and will give you a "feedback sent" message.

The system does work both ways, despite what the doubters think - I've both sent and received feedback.

You can also include your private email address, if you want the recipient to reply to you outside Lit. That also works.

On the few feedbacks I have sent, I've had to do a second code also, so it might be part of the process now. But, it did take both codes before it was sent.

If it was my story "Lilly wants a Baby" I didn't get it. :D

However I do get email feedback occasionally so I believe the feature works at least part of the time.

Thanks, Guys & Gals. I'll give it another shot. I fairly sure now the second code was to give me a chance to preview before submitting. I just got a little hasty.

It appears there's a timer on the feedback screen. If you spend too much time keying in your feedback, when you click on send, it will ask for another code. Just enter the second code and your feedback will be sent. Why there's a timer, I don't know.

That happens to me occasionally, I always figured that I took too long to write it, and the original code became outdated - or timed out, or whatever. I just re-enter the new code and resend.

Once it's successfully sent the system will tell you it was sent.

I remember that happening to me also. That security field is time sensitive. If you take to long to compose your comment, no I don't know the length of time, the system will re-ask the security question even though you typed the old one in correctly.

Thanks ! i'm not sure what happened but the message was sent and is in my folder.
