A country boy acclimating to city life or a city boy getting countrifide? (No Fata I didn't mean cunt~trified)

Cities will always have parks. Country places won't have strip clubs.

Never thought about that. I disagree about country having stipulated clubs. Some of the funnest ones are out in the sticks!

That's disturbing.

This. We have strip clubs out in the middle of farm land in Québec. I cannot even imagine.

I think it depends upon their personality. Lots of people live in the city and want to live in the country. Vice versa.

I certainly see a lot of whiny-ass city boys unable to handle life out in bush Alaska. And of course, we have a bunch of homeless bush people who live a fine alcohol fueled life in the city parks..

honey. we have strip clubs in the country.

not much else to do but roll around in the hay and go to church.

it depends on your skill set.

people who know how to work with their hands and have practical skills like auto mechanics, electricians, welders, plumbers, can make it anywhere. people want to hire reliable people. for fancy shit like stock brokers, if you want to live in the country, you better be able to work from home or know how to get by without the fancy company out in the country. that or be prepared to commute.

I imagine tootless strippers and Caesarian scars everywhere.

I have idea why their is a cow on their sign.......

I am equally happy in either city or countryside. A well-balanced life, as the Romans knew, needs both. What I cannot cope with is suburbia. What on earth is the point?

If I am in a city I have world-class museums, galleries, restaurants, cultural life on my doorstep - I pay for it with expensive lifestyle, crowded streets, traffic and noise. In the countryside I get beautiful scenery, space to myself, cheaper living, fresh air, birdsong - but limited cultural life, few friends, and a long drive to the shops.

In the suburbs, though, I get no cultural life, a long drive to the shops, traffic, expense...I genuinely cannot understand why people live in these places.

100% this^^

Some people always think the grass is greener. Some people wear sadness like a gstring. Others choose to be happy wherever they happen to be at the moment.

Your city or country question is more about dealing with change than dealing with surroundings.

"This is a knife!"

I had no trouble going rural. Great out here watching the deer graze on your lawn. Shopping does take planning with stores 20 miles away. Septic tanks, wells, etc. until we got public water lines a few years ago.

Internet kinda sucks, but it got better a couple of years ago.

I have about 5 acres and my nearest neighbor is a quarter mile away. I could never go back to the city where houses are 30' or less apart and you can hear your neighbor flush the toilet.

There are times when I can't hear a man-made sound. Nothing but nature in one form or another.

I was born and raised in the city. Retired to the boonies for 23 years. A short drive to lots of redneck bars, a little farther to bare all strip clubs, glory holes, and more. We had five acres with only woods across the dirt road.
Recently moved back to the city life, close to a subdivision called Green Acres, it ain't 5th avenue. Hard getting used to the city life again and the neighbors laugh when we mow the 1/2 acre naked.

country life to city would be easier, but I am a city girl so I maybe somewhat biased.

I would imagine it depends more on the people than the places.

Anyway, I vote for cuntrified!

Cuntrifide for the win!

I love both places, the hustle and bustle of the city, the quiet solitude of the country. I am blessed at the moment I live in the country but am so close to the city I can be enjoying it's pleasures in no time.

I can't imagine living somewhere that I could not look up in the sky and see the brilliance of the stars on a cloudless night. I think I may just go lay in a field somewhere tonight.

That does sound lovely. I adore my city but I did walk by a crack pipe and a pile of puke on my walk home last weekend.

I do have a patio and a hammock though, and if I close my eyes I can see all the stars in the universe. Perhaps I shall do that tonight :)
