The Isolated Blurt Thread XXIX: No Whining

Sometimes I see things that make me sad, so I have to make up stories in my head so I feel better.

Once on craigslist, I saw that someone was selling a wedding dress. It said, "reason for selling, don't need it anymore." And there was a picture of her, wearing the dress. Not at a wedding or anything, but just like in her kitchen or something. She was smiling, but she looked sad too.

I thought about how sad it was. Why didn't she need the dress anymore? Did her groom dump her? Did he run off with another woman? Maybe he died? I started to like actually get sad thinking about it, so I made up a story. Maybe they won some contest for like a dream wedding. The couple, and all their guests would be flown first class to the Bahamas. And waiting for her there, would be the most perfect gown from some famous designer. But she'd already bought the other dress. She'd saved for a long time to get it. She loved that dress, but it just didn't go with a beach wedding. So she decided to sell it and hopefully some other bride would love it just as much. She was happy to get her dream wedding, but was still kind of sad she wouldn't be wearing her dress.

I mean, it's possible that happened, right?

You make me want to be a better person.

Damn. I went on FB and I saw what happens during tonight's televised games. I wish they would state a spoiler alert.

News organizations can't be expected to put an embargo on news just because it conflicts with NBC's policy of not showing the marquee events of the Olympics live if they happen to occur outside of prime time in North America.

This wasn't a news outlet (they're usually good about avoiding spoilers), it was a banner on the FB home page, so it was Facebook themselves.

No train. I've been too busy traveling around all over the place to be able to take the train on a consistent basis. Soon, I hope.

This.

Whats up? Uppies on the train?

:D
..
Damn that's a good looking dog, I need a dog
..
I just wrote a poem about missing my dog, want to hear it? really? okay
..
There's a nice shady spot
under the leaves of the plum;
perfect for watching the cool green,
snoozing in the sun,
where once a great white beast did reside,
now no beloved protector, friend.

Oh the years we did traipse these hills,
companion in the brush beside,
mine eyes on the scenery,
his on the things that hide and flee,
in those wild places walked and climbed.

I'd build a fire to the dog god,
in the blackest week, flames reaching skyward,
howls shattering the dark night beyond
and all creatures great&small falling back from the sound,
of a wounded heart that calls for
one more chance to share the bond
with mans partner from beyond time.

Go get you a dog. Plenty out there that could use a nice home.

..
I went to the Humane Society shelter today, I could get a dog for a $100 if I fenced my yard, this aint the suburbs, there's a game trail beaten down in the lower yard

"The fact that I can be in bed by eight o'clock right now really excites me."

"Popping by" without invitation or advance warning pisses me off to no end. And a text to say you're waiting in my driveway is not cute.

If I had hounds, they would be released frequently and with much zeal.
