Here's How Donald Trump Could Become President

That's another problem altogether. That won't happen as long as the people see the Federal government as the solution instead of the problem. And that won't happen as long as those in power, both democrat and republican, use the treasury to buy votes.

And, that, then is the death of the nation. It will continue in appearance for some time yet just as Rome never completely disappeared, but from the oligarchy, as we have discussed so often, comes a strong man. Even Democrats recognize this as they scream to the high heavens that they fear Trump would be that man (just as many of them openly lamented that Obama was not assuming that mantle). They will not care if the strong man is a Democrat National Socialist, they can always claim in the aftermath that he wasn't one of them, but a right-winger...

;) ;) :D

Augustus Cesar seemed like a real good idea until Caligula and Nero arrived on the scene...

"I don't want no steenking Dictator, unless it's my dictator." Even Caligula and Nero had their sycophants.

I somewhat agree, but term limits would not solve the bigger problem of the rule of the unelected in the massive bureaucracy. I sometimes feel that we should just wall it off and call it "Forbidden City..."

It is in figuring out how to get the vast majority to agree to dismantling them instead of relying on them to stop the erosion of liberty.

I'd love to see one cabinent position and the relevent agency summarily abolished.

I don't even care which one. Just anything to put the fear of God into bureaucrats. the only place in the country that did not suffer a real estate depression was Maryland.

That's why I endorse the Fairtax.org...

Eliminate the power of the IRS to target its political* opposition.

* i.e., everyone except the National Democratic Socialist Party

Basically anywhere within the DC metro area............and Los Alamos, NM. Real estate prices continued to rise in both of those places.

... and judging by the postings of one who lives there, they think the rest of the nation looks (and thinks) just like them.

Government of the USSA today is totally corrupted - there exists not one single facet of it which is not.

That is the result of democratic socialism infecting - illegally - America's Constitution-dictated republican form of government. That infection, over the last 150+ years, and especially the last 90+, has now totally overcome whatever immune system America once possessed.

It's over, lemmings - the republic is lost.

And instead of acknowledging that fact of life, instead of looking at yourself in the mirror as the enabler and abettor you are of the political corruption of the United States of America, you still need to fantasize that if we only do the right thing now, everything could get better...

...when the resident progressive malignancy has only grown and grown all these years you've been fantasizing the very same bullshit.

It's sad enough that the republic has been lost because you lemmings need fantasy to believe (just slightly less than your cousin progressives), and perhaps even worse is the continued misery ahead for America because you won't stand up now and proclaim, NO MORE!...

...which, if you would've done long ago, would've help started turning this country around to the direction it should be sailing.

Bitch about your cousin progressives all you want to, but that doesn't address the fact you allowed them to get away with exactly what you acknowledged they were doing.

The republic is lost and the USSA is going down - the only doubt about those facts of life live only in the wannabe minds of both partisan sides of the lemming coin which keeps marching toward its fated cliff...

From Politico:

NEW YORK — Taken aback by the size of Donald Trump’s July fundraising haul, Hillary Clinton’s campaign is quickly working to beef up its efforts to raise campaign cash before the fall — sending the candidate, running mate Tim Kaine, and former President Bill Clinton on an all-out financial sprint through August while explicitly warning top fundraisers this week that they need to pick up the pace.

In an internal memo, first obtained by POLITICO, that will be circulated to high-level donors on Monday morning, campaign manager Robby Mook specifically writes that the Republican nominee’s July haul overshot the campaign’s expectations, necessitating a new wave of action.

“Donald Trump also had his best fundraising month of the campaign, raising $80 million,” explains Mook in the roughly 750-word missive — titled “Wake Up Call” — after trumpeting Clinton’s own $90 million haul between the campaign and other Democratic committees. “This was far more than anyone expected — and should be a wake-up call to all Hillary supporters. We must redouble our efforts in the coming weeks."

Interesting, 4est. Thanks for posting it. I guess we'll find out who was right and who was wrong come November, unless the people doing the USC/LA Times poll chicken out and make changes in midstream to favor Hillary more as some have done.

I will say I find it odd that so many of these pollsters select for so many Democrats and so few Republicans in their sample. Makes no sense to me, especially since Obama only beat Romney by 3.9% in 2012.

He didnt "Go After" the parents of a fallen hero. While I wish he had of just kept quiet, he was attacked first. They laid it on him pretty good....
The closest Khan came to an attack was asking if Trump had ever read the constitution, which I have serious doubts that he ever has.

How about the way they treated him when the desparetly hoped he would be the Republican Nominee?
Sarah Palin is female.

A Constitutional amendment is needed to set term limits, but to set an overall cumulative limit on the number of years anyone can serve in Federal elective offices. Obviously that wouldn't preclude the dynastic tendencies we see today, but it would go a long way to stop various individuals from being able to manipulate the legislative agenda for no other reason than they've been in office far too long.
No, people should be able to vote for whoever they want to and if enough people vote for the person then they should be elected.
If people are too stupid to elect quality people then we get the "leaders" we deserve.

Today's Monmouth poll gives Hillary a 13% lead over Trump. I wonder why:

DEMOGRAPHICS (weighted)

26% Republican

39% Independent

35% Democrat

47% Male

53% Female

All right, enough is enough.

You are, and have always been, so quick to point your finger at others. Telling us how fucked up the government is and how we're so fucked up along with it. Fine!

But what are you doing? Nothing, absolutely nothing. By your own admission you have withdrawn from society. You have allegedly, or so implied, crawled of to some backwoods redoubt, not unlike 'Ted the Bomber.' For all of your mouth you don't do shit or mean shit. Hell, John Brown, J. W. Booth, even Timmy McVie will go down in history as at least having DONE something based on their beliefs.

And in that you do absolutely nothing but run your mouth and point your finger at others you seem to overlook the fact that you are as much, if not more, part of the problem than the people you point your finger at.

I'll give you credit for having deeply held beliefs, no matter whether I agree with you or not. But having deeply held beliefs and not acting on them is essentially the same as having no beliefs at all.

While I agree with the highlighted sentiment the fact remains that the deck is stacked in favor of the incumbent. Even more so after the passage of McCain-Feingold. Public service should be an avocation of limited duration, not a career. Generations of political families based on name recognition and 'connections' is far too close to the notion of royalty for my comfort. Even the press occasionally slips up and refers to them in terms of royalty.

The problem is that politics is far too complicated for us to keep cycling people out as quickly as they figure it out. All but the most hardcore of Obama supporters will admit that a lot of his problems would have been smaller if he hadn't been an outsider. I want a president who knows the Speaker's dog's name and can call up any random Congressmen and at least be able to tie names to faces if nothing more.

No it isn't. That's a myth that politicians want to perpetuate so as to baffle the plebs. It is something they desperately NEED you to believe in order for them to maintain their positions of power.

As an example, up to about hundred years ago people went into politics with some wealth (there are exceptions) and came out broke. Now they go into politics broke and come out millionaires. Exactly WHO are they serving? Any public service they may now be doing is accidental. They have figured out a way to enrich themselves while convincing you that they're working on your behalf. And that is what the art of politics is ALL about. Manipulating public opinion. Politics has NOTHING to do with governance and even less to do with anything that might be considered in your best interests.

Well they've got me convinced because I listen to them yammer on about economics and foreign policy and can laugh at the number of things that any given one of them don't know without fooling myself into thinking I'd be great at every aspect either.

Your example isn't proving my point false. It's proving your point correct which in this particular case is not the same thing. I do believe we need professional politicians and that really even when the Founding Fathers were talking about citizen farmers they were equal parts fooling themselves and working within the confines that only land owning Americans who at that point were likely decently educated would be stepping up in the first place. Even then I believe they were being naive.

I don't deny that politicians come out rich. We have a problem with lobbiests. We have a problem with politicians being able to vote themselves greater and greater fortunes. That is ultimately a separate issue.

I love that idea. Anyone. I don't care. Has this ever actually happened? I mean really 100% gone?
