Too many personal insults on that thread. I am bored of that, people flinging insults instead of discussing content. I believe that people who do that aren't intellectually capable of discussing content (without the safety net of linking to someone else's opinion) and simply aren't worth arguing.

There are groups like the Bahá'í's whose believe is one planet, one people and they are very much for world government. Somehow they think their form of government would be what the world would choose.

Somehow people in the Us and Europe always think that if we help overthrow some countries government, they will install a government like ours.
Considering the percentage of the world under communism and religious rule I doubt that democracy would be the world choice.

Even if that's what it was all about (which btw I do not), do you really believe it will happen anytime soon? Like in your lifetime? I don't think so. All you have to do is look to Europe. The EU was suppose to be the beginning of a one world order. With Britain leaving it looks like that beginning has experienced a huge set back.

I do believe that one day, a thousand, two thousand years from now, how long who knows, there will be one global government, one official currency and one leader. And that might not be a bad thing in those far future years. But you will never, repeat, never see one religion. Why? Simple. To borrow a quote from a favorite movie: "A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it." People as a group that believes deeply in what they believe in, no matter what it is, will die before they accept anything else. It just ain't gunna happen.

ISIS is a tool of Saudi Arabia and Qatar (and kinda/sorta, the US). They will be taken out once they topple Assad. The natural gas pipeline through Syria is still in play; we want the Qatar one over the Iranian one so Assad must go!

I give it 50 years max, and I may be overshooting it. With today's media it is much easier to manipulate the masses.

I have seen editorial pieces promoting the idea that all religions lead to the same path, so people will go along with this.

When I was a child, people believed that marriage was between a man and a woman as per the bible. They believed that homosexuality was a sin because that is what the bible said and that is what their pastors said. Now those very same Christians have changed their minds and/or ignore those bible passages in favor of changing with the current morality standards. No one had to die to get those minds changed. You just need the media.
