I admit I owned a Mercedes 500 until a few years ago--but it was old when I bought it and I rarely took it out because I didn't want to spring for premium gas. Other than the occasional foreign travel, I try not to get out at all anymore. I'm pumping out over 500,000 words in published books every year and I've got a great home setup. My third career is one of a hermit and I'm as happy as a clam with it.

I called the VP pick months ago (although it was just a guess). He seems a good, steady, noncontroversial choice. He's the junior U.S. senator from my state. He was mayor of Richmond, a steady chair of the DNC, and a steady governor of Virginia. Did I mention that he's a "steady," no waves guy? A moderate who has worked hard in Congress on "around the edges" compromises with the Republicans. I don't think the Republicans in Congress will hiss at him like they do at each other, and, in particular, at Cruz.
