Actually, in the mid 90's, Marvel and DC teamed up to do a series of books called "Marvel Vs. DC", pitting different characters from each respective universe against each other. As the battles raged, the 2 universes merged, forming an Amalgam Universe of new heroes. Super Soldier (Superman & Captain America), Dark Claw (Batman & Wolverine), Amazon (Wonder Woman & Storm), etc....
