What pissed you off today? Mark II

Old guy wanted a disabled space in the car park - all the spaces were taken so he stopped his car in the driving lane to wait for someone to come out of the supermarket and move.

He didn't care that he'd blocked me in too - I was parked and wanted to leave but couldn't get into the driving lane. He looked at me and shrugged.

He didn't care that he'd also blocked a young guy in the car behind him who also wanted to leave but couldn't get past him. When the young guy sounded his horn to attract his attention, he just shrugged again.

And old guy was so determined to get a disabled space that he refused to park in an ordinary space that came free, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS THE ONE NEXT TO THE BLOODY DOOR OF THE SUPERMARKET AND THEREFORE NEARER THAN THE ONE HE WAITING FOR AND HAD LOADS OF SPACE FOR HIM TO GET IN AND OUT

Now, bearing in mind that all parking is free, that was just ignorant. He only moved when the young guy waiting behind him started to open his door to get out to speak to him.

This makes me angry and I wasn't even there!

Makes me just as angry if not more-so that the one closest to the building wasn't handicapped...

Similar to places I go (sports arenas, theme parks, etc.) where my family could use handicapped-parking placard (we have for when I am in car), but don't b/c venues make handicapped parking cost more... Also, I have never driven, but walk a lot of places (especially in nice weather as we are having now), but are no benches or places for me to rest in parking lots once I arrive at destination.

Difficult to describe, but equidistant from the door were some disabled, some parent/child and some ordinary. He was waiting at the disabled bay furthest from the door.

Only those with blue badges are entitled to park in the disabled bays (which are always free of charge here) and they're only given to those with disabilities that will not get better with time.

So it makes sense to have some 'ordinary' ones for people with injuries that are healing? Maybe someone with a busted ankle being taken shopping by a family member, as my friend is currently, following a recent fall.

My point was that this guy could have made life easier for himself and others, but chose to inconvenience us all. It was a pointless childish act.

I am at work right now eating candy.
I haven't eaten all day.
Bad day.
At work trying to fix my mess. I hate computers. Hate them.

If anyone is in NY and wants to run some pizza by me, I won't say no.

Have a good night, all. :(

The six post txt message I got from a friend. If you have that much to say, call. It would not be so bad except they do this all the time. I just refuse to read them at this point. Hell, Leave it in a voice mail even. Gesh!

Would seem even more pointless for the person to make life harder on themselves (don't necessarily care about others) when could have made life easier for self.

Perhaps man was not intentionally being mean, just was stupid. Or maybe acting that way to deal/dole out payback due to being treated/spoken-to like they were stupid often in past.

I'll be done now... I'm not defense council/counsel (so many similar, similarly-spelled words), & my recent shots are still hurting & occasionally bleeding as I sit here.

Built a coop, raised a flock of 7 hens, moved them to the coop once they were juveniles. Big enough to withstand the weather and temps but not laying yet. Lost 3 to an attack a week ago. Bought 4 new chicks to replenish the flock and 2 turkeys to discourage preditors. Lost 3 more hens today in another attack. Feed store is out of chicks and I'm out of patience. We can't afford to build a run and I can't afford to keep feeding the preditors. And now a useless coop since its only a matter of time before our last hen gets taken. What a colossal waste of money. 😣

If you ever try again you could try circling it with barbed wire. Completely inhumane, and you might need to cut a fox or something from it once or twice but it would certainly keep them away.

Then again, I've never raised hens nor am I a defensive strategist so take "certainly" to mean "it at least sounds like it would work".

My step dad has fencing and offered it to us to use. Master wants to go big or go home, I just want a quick and dirty for now and just improve on the run when we can. I'm fairly certain our culprit is a fox so something to deter a ground predator would suffice. Feeling a little better since another hen just showed up, still two missing.

Note of warning - foxes will try to dig under a wire fence. To make it fox-proof, continue chicken-wire (or whatever) along the ground outside the enclosure and cover it with soil, so that when they start digging next to the fence they just hit wire.

(My sister keeps chooks, they have to deal with foxes and owls.)

What is happening to this entire planet? :(

What has happened in your city that is so troubling?

Dallas.

5 police officers gunned down Thursday night by a man hiding in a downtown parking garage. They (the police) were providing security for a peaceful protest in response to police shootings of black men in other states. The gunman stated he wanted to kill white cops. The police were there at the request of the organizers, to ensure the peaceful right to assembly.

5 dead
7 wounded

1/2 of downtown is still blocked off, because it's a crime scene.

This afternoon, DPD received a credible threat, and shut down a 3 block perimeter around HQ, and had to do a sweep of the police department parking garage - there was reason to believe someone was in the area intending to ambush the police and/or plant bombs.

Sigh.

I'm in Minnesota.

While not as devastating and random as Dallas, there's a feeling of uncertainty, "what the fuck" and what now?

Protestors shut down a major highway last night for 5 hours, 102 arrests, 27 officers injured.

So much misinformation, confusion and heartache being put out there. This is tough stuff.

Wow, the first time I heard of that happening. I'm at a cabin and don't see the news. So I'm assuming it's the black lives matter group? They really have a way of pissing people off. While what happened with the officer that just killed that woman's fiancé wasn't right. What their doing isn't right either. :(

There is so much anger 'out there' by so many people for so many reasons; it really frightens me. I remember the rioting in the 60's but wasn't really old enough to understand the deeper meanings. Nevertheless, the present seems so much more volatile in multiple ways.:(

Thanks, I can now be pissed too! :(

I'd say enjoy the rest of your cabin time! We've had such perfect weather for it.

It's a weird feeling, isn't it? :(

I wouldn't call it so much weird as terrifying. There's nights I lie awake, running terrible scenarios in my head, mostly involving me being in a situation where I have to defend/protect my children.

:(

I can't even imagine that momma-bear feeling. :rose:
