The PGA's Greenbrier Classic has been cancelled

Actually, this was just my way of seeing who would look beyond the golf tournament. My state and my county has been devastated by floods which have killed people, and destroyed whole towns. I wondered if LIT would surprise me, but it didn't.

If anyone talks to jinxed, please tell her I hope she and her family are safe.

well, it's renard, a neofascist troll.

and, frankly, i don't know enough about golf to have known where the tournament was to be held, so... yeah. good luck, peoples.

Are we supposed to be upset that you mislead the Lit with your thread title? You're not giving us enough credit. More people would have cared if you were forthcoming with the title.

Beyond that, it's an awful time. Texas, too.

I saw a picture yesterday of the course, good lord it was flooded. I was shocked.

I have a friend, a coach, who was to go there which is the only reason I know about it.

I did see all the flooding online and I hope the waters recede soon and that there is no additional lost of life.

Who can forget the footage of the burning house being washed away?

Is it too soon to blame glowball warning?

I'll concede to luk that the thread title was deceptive even if accurate (the PGA did cancel the tournament). I shouldn't have done that.

Donald Trumps says: That would never have happened at one of my courses!

Mine are Yuge and designed by the very best minds available...

;)

... and God loves me. Ask the other 16 stiffs!

Golf fucking sucks. I don't give a shit about golf.

I feel very badly for affected families of the flooding, though.

I've lived in two of the flooded counties and have friends and relatives whose homes, businesses and lives have been devestated. My FB feed has been filled with photos and stories that are absolutely heartbreaking. Two friends who work at The Greenbrier have turned their home into a shelter of sorts, providing cots and hot showers and meals to their coworkers, all while collecting clothes and necessities and transporting folks where they need to go. Everyone is exhausted, physically and emotionally.

OP, I'll add you and yours to my thoughts and well wishes. I'm so sorry for all that your beautiful state is going through. :rose:

It has been utter chaos, homes, businesses and lives torn apart. :(

I talked to member of the county health dept today. As people are cleaning up they are running out of places to put the debris. You can't imagine the number of major roads that have been washed away.

Who can forget the footage of the burning house being washed away?

In the town of White Sulphur Springs.

Probably, but oh hell, it's the GB...go ahead

I'm not a fan either, to be honest. The irony is, that this year the first 30,000 tickets were free.

The community is coming together, we're gonna take care of our people.

It's ok, you didn't mean to do it. :)

You're such a sweetie

Thanks Farrah, I hope your family and friends are okay. It is an awful situation.

I am not Jim Nabors, but I was a Green Marine!

I mean, I feel bad about the disaster, but I'm not butters...

Hey, liberal, nobody is going to be silenced by your childish name calling anymore.

The people are waking up. ALL views are now acceptable in a democracy, except for your intolerant efforts to stop democracy.

And, no I'm not a "troll." In case you hadn't noticed there are quite a few people in America and around the world with similar views to me. We are here, we are not going away, and we are in your face.

And, furthermore, my response was funny.

And, further, furthermore, liberals hate people in West Virginia, that's why its not getting much publicity in the mainstream media (Trump has mentioned it though).

Notice the liberal troll has to fit the word "fascism" into a discussion of a golf tournament being cancelled by flooding. The fact that "fascism" never existed (there was a Fascist Party in Italy, but fascism with a small f didn't exist beyond that) doesn't matter to them. Its a slur to demonize people they don't like.

You almost made a point!

I came on to see if you were around to find out how y'all were.
Me and mine are ok - we've had patients that have lost everything though. Homes, cars - everything.
A neighbor's grandmothers home swept away and they were frantically searching all over for her, then got the sad news.
My co workers father is a mortician and told that they're having to store bodies in a department store in Greenbrier county. Some they aren't sure who they are.
That road to Lewisburg? parts of it just gone. And when I say parts I mean like 4 feet across and probably 8 feet deep gone.
I know that your area was also horribly flooded. i hope that the rains today didn't hurt too much - I know that it caused alarm here, some roads heading off of the mountains started flooding one of our main roads up again.
And do you remember that house with all the decorations in front during holidays? It's along the scenic road with the Greenbrier river running alongside, well that road was mostly under water until yesterday, they were having to reroute up high near arh.
Really hope that you and your family and all loved ones are accounted for safe and sound. I know you can replace most everything but your life, but I also know how it feels to lose your home and all of your pictures and sentimentals.
Stay safe. <3

-btw I think it's ridiculous how little coverage this has gotten, here and in main stream news.
