Did you see my bee pics? Here and here. Not honey bees, of course, but I love their little furry, buzzy selves. The cotoneaster which grows over the wall at the front of our house is full of them, it fairly hums! I might grab a sound recording of it...

Oh very lovely! All sorts of nectar-full blossom is doing exceptionally well this year in Northern Britain, which promises wonderfully for the honey harvest. My cotoneaster is shared about equally between the bumbles and the honey bees. Fascinating to see how there is no aggression shown by either to the other - except at the entrance to a hive where the guard bees dive out and pester any creature -including me!- that is not one of their own.
