Not really. I don't even really follow sailing closely.

How do you get your news?

Depends. BBC and NPR in the car. Laptop this morning since I am away on business.
I have two newspaper print subscriptions….yes, I am that old.

Are you active in politics?

Are you active in politics?

It depends on how you define "active"
I write to representatives of certain organizations.. I participate in local discussions.. and I watch Jim Jeffries on YouTube :D

Do you fly your national flag at your home?

I'm definitely on the conservative side, but I truly avoid politics because I find if I discuss non politics with people I can actually like them without having to worry if either of us agree with they guy or girl who want's to be the next POTUS.

With that being said, I'll never vote for Hillary. :)

Why does everyone hate Nickelback?

I don't. They're on my workout playlist.

What happened to The Cranberries?

I do.

What happened to The Cranberries?

I used them in a Cacao-Cranberry Stout I brewed last winter. They were delicious.

How's the weather where you are today?

I do.

A little cooler than yesterday, but humid and a little overcast. I think it's supposed to clear and be nice this afternoon.

lol.. open your window

It's a bright and sunny day!

How hot does it get before you close your windows and turn on the air conditioner?

It's not the heat, it's the humidity....
Once we start getting humid days and nights (like may/june), then we go full AC.
It's just miserable if we dont.

If you could be anywhere in the world today doing anything you want, what would you do and where?

Hahaaa - they are open.

It's more a humidity than a temperature factor. But approx 80 degrees.

Does you hair get crazy in the humidity?

seriously? lol.. my hair is what it is. My hair doesn't even pretend to do anything but hang there.

Do you like the smell of sweat?

Do you like the smell of sweat?

Fresh and clean sweat can be very hot on a woman....

Specific to one person now: Do you do all grain brewing? I don't have room so I still do extract right now. What's your favorite homebrew?

So, two questions.

Or how about this question instead:

Do you like Beer?

I hate to admit this because AF may stop talking to me, but not really...I had a bad experience with it in high school (came to the conclusion that I am allergic to hops maybe - would take even just a few sips and would be soooo sick - of course this did not stop me from drinking in high school ;) - thank God for the 80s and wine coolers :) ).

Do you have to have coffee in the morning to get going?

Nope. I drink it because I like it. I don't need it.

Have you ever done illegal drugs?

Beer Schmeer, we've got plenty of other things to discuss :rose:

Coffee or skin-on-skin contact, either works fine getting me going in the morning ;)

I do all grain. I only use extract if I need to get the ABV higher on a big beer. I brewed a barleywine last week with 40#+ plus of grain and then threw in 6# of extract towards the end to get the OG (alcohol) up a higher. It'll be ready for Christmas and have a 12% abv. I recently built a 30 gallon mash tun because to 10 gallon one wasn't cutting it any more :)

Favorite is a stout. But be have two different barleywines, an ESB, an imperial pilsner and a honey infused IPA all in fermenters at the moment.

If I need to leave a question - what hobbies do you enjoy?

I have a vast seashell collection, that I leave scattered all over the world's beaches; maybe you've seen it?

Do you appreciate sarcasm as a form of humor?

Yes, sarcasm is a form of humour.

Would you prefer to be happy and poor or sad and rich?

Um...I homebrew. I ride a motorcycle, I DJ, I play a Bass (Not in a band)...I read....

What's your favorite drink?

well, I've been sad and poor.....so maybe happy and poor would work. Or happy and rich! :D

What is your proudest achievement?

Well, I don't do coffee, so skin to skin it is ;)

A good IPA.

A mentoring award I recently received.

Who is your hero?

My mom - she is brave and strong and kind and I can only hope that I am half the mom to my kids that she was to me. She did it on her own - no child support or anything, with a special needs child who required round the clock care, she worked hard to support us.

What is your idea of a "good day"?

I suspect your mom is as proud of you as can be, and that you are a wonderful mom too!

I have many definitions of good day. Certainly a day on the lake. Any day that I do something at work that reaches my audience. Any day that I spend with family laughing and having fun.

My hero was always pretty much my father.

In your life who most influenced your career (whatever it is you do).

My Dad was one. But "CF" was probably the single most influential person in my career. He was a mentor of mine in my early 20's. We are still friends. He continues to influence me with his insights.

What is your biggest regret?

Hurt a friend so bad that he won't ever talk to me ever again. There's a vow I will keep the rest of my life...

What is your greatest success?

So far it has been selling my business/family home/land and being able to not work anymore.

Who was your best teacher in high school and why?

It was an even split with both of my English teachers - Mrs. Miller and Ms. Weid. Both of them helped nurture in my a true love of languages and develop a lifelong habit of reading.

Who has had the strongest influence on your life in the last five years, good or bad?
