I'm back....

And well thank you Numi..

Makes perfect sense, but..... oh never mind :)

Trip was interesting, though not as busy and exciting it has been in previous years...

But at least am back in Blighty. God did it rain though up in those hills... no wonder there are floods across Europe .

And just as you return, I'm away! I'm glad to hear the trip was interesting. Exciting is good, I suppose, in a work trip, as long as it doesn't tip over into absolutely terrifying  Those pictures from Paris were dreadful, though, I do hope it recedes soon, what an awful thing. And in Germany, I think?

I'm in Rome, just for pleasure, though, no work. Although how great would that be?!

It's incredibly hot, sitting outside for lunch weather, scooters everywhere, snake-hipped Italian waiters and Sophia Loren lookalikes in the restaurants. And antiquity at every turn, quite extraordinary.

Oh and a million tourists (well, a million and two, of course, I don't kid myself we're anything else), of every hue, size and language! All of humanity is here, and who can blame them :)

It was a good time.
It was also well needed.
There are times they drive me crazy, but in recent years since her mom passed, they have been more supportive and such.

You can't choose your family, can you, or your SO's family, but when they're the good guys, it's a wonderful thing :)

Any nice plans for tomorrow? Assuming it's your day off again, that is!

Today I'm off both jobs and off the main job tomorrow.
I am hoping to catch up on typing possibly....
Otherwise, just relaxing. ;)

Well, evening and I hope Sunny Rome is well sunny warm and relaxing.

enjoy your chilled Italian vino...

It was wet in central Europe too towards the second half of last week, there was some superb electrical storms, and torrential downpours, at times the area where I was working kind of resembled the Somme, with the mud and the wooden pave ways...

But thankfully with out the constant fear of death, or even worse, being injured.

Hats of to those who served during those dark days.

Anyway have a good week and see you soon :)

What are you up to?

It was our last day in Rome today. So hot...! Little bike ride along the Appian Way, and a visit to the ruins of a building dating back to AD 68! Before the Coliseum, even, can you believe that?

So one last pizza and a gelato this evening, then hopping on the plane tomorrow, just two or three hours flight time home.

You catch up on your typing? Or did the relaxing take priority? :D

I submitted two stories yesterday and started working on a third.
Then I napped. ;)

I love the idea of going to Rome although I would probably be lost. lol

Wow, it was hot today...

Flying home tomorrow, actually, although we've been here since Thursday, so can't complain! It's been great, not my first visit, but good to see some parts again, and explore some new areas. And the vino and the food, of course. Yum!

Have you ever visited the Somme area in France? Or Passchendaele? Moving, interesting, tragic, life-affirming all at once, I thought. Incredible.

It's something of a maze in parts, I must admit! I'm the world's worst navigator, I just follow H around, he always knows where he is. I think he must share genes with a pigeon or something!

Napping is good. I approve of napping ;)

Several times....

A couple of years ago I cycled from London to outside Paris along the Western front as part of a charity ride with the Army Benevolent fund. Quite moving, but I have been on various battle field tours...

Even Did Casino a few years ago...

Are you an avid erotica reader? are you a writer?

Ah, the Western front - an acquaintance of mine did something similar a few years ago with an enormous peloton of cyclists from the military, or ex-military I think. She said stopping the peleton safely was quite something! I was about to leave for a ride in that area of France, and her warning to avoid flinty tracks lest the puncture fairy should visit was very timely!

No, I'm not a writer... I sometimes have a little ramble on a subject that takes my fancy, but not fiction or role-play, no. I do read some of the stories here, although I find the quality quite variable, I think it's a learning process for everyone really, and some are further along on that path than others, perhaps.

I've read and enjoyed some quite filthy books, though. "The story of O", for example, and "The sexual life of Catherine M". And I very much liked Belle de Jour when she was blogging. Do you remember her?

HI Numi

I wonder if your friend and I were on the same ride possibly.

Who knows.

I do dabble in writing but never really published any recently.

I watched a couple of episodes of Bell de jour but never read any of her work.

Maybe I should having seen the odd escort or two?

Commuted to and from work today first time in three weeks, and my calf seemed to survive..

Welcome home :)

Thank you! Good to be back, although the arrival at the airport was shambolic - air bridge not working, took them half an hour to find and deploy some steps at the back door, and then discover that they couldn't use them, and another fifteen to find more (different) steps and attach them to the middle doors... Sigh... And then a forty minute wait in the queue for the facial recognition entry gate things... Argghh.

Mind you, I have learned that the machine recognises me far more readily if I look grumpy, so....

Belle de Jour's written stuff was better, I think, than the TV thing. Much more exposition, opinion, advice. Certainly from the female perspective.

Glad to hear the commute was successful!

I always find that making a first attempt at the back door always goes badly. They should have known that.

Yikes, my airbridge thingie last week was fine....

Anyway glad you are safe and sound at home.... :p

*laughs*

I don't know if it was too big, or maybe they just didn't prepare it properly... ;)

We're still talking about the steps, right? :D

I knew it was an inappropriate interjection but it was too easy to ignore too....

And. No. Not any more.... :)

Back from Rome now. There may be pics.... ;)
A pic in my head [perhaps I have mentioned it here] - I'm alone in Rome, warm day as ever, I'm having a sandwich sitting on the grass admiring the Coliseum. German woman joins me. Three sentences in and she saying, "So warm today, do you not want to take your shirt off?" ...

Never pass up an opportunity for ... a double entendre ;)

And I thought perhaps not... :)

Anytime she offers the back door, it should be taken with polite ease and a lot of lubrication.....And ONLY if she offers...Talk about a quick end to the night. haha.

Simon! Hello!

I think you have told me that before, but I'd forgotten it was in Rome...

And, of course I have to ask..... Did you comply? I might have dropped my panino ;)

The voice of bitter experience?

I read somewhere on here that any man wishing to perform anal should, er, try it himself (with a toy, not another man, necessarily) to learn what he needs to do to make it a lovely experience for his lady...

When it's done right, it's ... incredible ... for both, I'd say, but there's a definite technique to it.

(End of lecture ;))
