God dammit. He was the first animal we adopted after the divorce and the new house. He is my thigh warmer and kept me company when I had to let the kids go off without me every other weekend.

I'm not ready for this but I can't let him suffer.

I was reading an article today and thought of you....someone had a cat who used to bop them on a certain place on their elbow, when the cat was terminally ill she had his paw print tattooed on the exact spot.

You could have your kitty's pawprint tattooed on your thigh...if nothing else it would serve as warning to any future thigh usurper that this particular ground is holy.

In any event, sorry to hear of your cat's illness...nine years isn't time enough.
