Harrisburg was the lynchpin to isolating all the Atlantic States from the Midwest. But subordinant commanders failed to follow Lee's order to leave Gettysburg alone. Lee was forced to abandon Harrisburg.

1) Austin is about as much a bastion of liberalism in a conservative state as L.A. is a bastion of conservatism in a liberal state. Texas has hyper religious conservatives and socially liberal conservatives. There are all of 8 liberals in TX and RDS is one of them.

2) no one is erasing history......the city just seems to not want their school named after a traitor and a loser, what's so wrong with that?
