Denny---<-----that's me! The male half
Thanks for the information.
We've had a herd of them in our trees and yard as long as we've lived in NW Florida. Today my wife counted ten out on the board fence all in a row.
One we named Hoppy because his/her wing was broken and stuck straight out. To get to the nest he walked up a slanting tree then hopped over to the tree with a nest.
One time the neighbor's dog attacked Hoppy. We thought that was the end.
Hoppy hopped and waved his other wing, making loud noises. After a few hours and a few pecks, the dog walked away.
The moral of this story if a big dog picks on you make a lot of noise and show him your pecker!
Over the years Hoppy's wing got better and seemed to return to it's tight position next to Hoppy's body. We have no idea if Hoppy is still with us because now all the Ravens look alike.
Another wild day in the boonies
Denny------------ Apparently we have Ravens who like a warm wooded invironment because these suckers have a wing span like Piper Cub.
