This made me cry!

The truth is we don't know what will happen, who will make it, who will die. I have seen a person die with minor initial injuries

and have seen people live when I thought that they would die.

:rose: That was an incredible story. I can't begin to imagine what that family has gone through.

And you are right, you just never know who will make it and who won't. I see it time and again in my own career.

:rose: It is an amazing story. We just don’t know, it’s not an exact science all the time, and that’s why it’s called practice.

I don’t know much about oncology or pediatrics. When I think about it, trauma is pretty simple: resuscitate, stop the bleeding, fix the injury, supportive care, recovery.

I don't know that much about them either. I'm in subacute rehab. So I get your post-trauma patients, with a few strokes and joint replacements thrown in, and we try to restore their function or help make the contingency plans when we can't.
 
If that nurse rubs up against me one more time like that, I am going to ask if she wants to sneak off into the clean linen closet and make some dirty linens! :devil:

If the story was written by a fiction writer, I would say that the writer was a sadist.

As it is stands in reality, the circumstances of what has coalesced is mind blowing.

Yeah, those C-collars can be a bit uncomfortable. I guess I will just have to dream about it.
