R/C aircraft can become a very expensive hobby... I bought some LSA plans from an 80 something fellow out of England who imports and sells diesel powered engines for R/C aircraft. Have started on a couple of different experimental aircraft projects, life just interrupted them.

The quadcopter drones in the sub $1K bracket are amazing. From what I've seen they are easier to learn on then the really inexpensive tiny ones.

Yeah my brother got one maybe a little over that and a toddler could maneuver it, it's that simple.

I may be old fashioned, but my skills with RC are kinda off.

Just how expensive those toys are. they require a ton of maintenance and such.

ok, I took that BDSM test....I'm not sure I totally agree with the results....

Your results are extremely ambiguous. If you read them, each point will say you'd be compatible with yourself. Maybe you need to clone yourself and have some fun!

I wouldn't mind getting a drone. My brother got one and it takes fantastic pictures so my first thought was to do a huge family portrait outside in the field. It would be fun having one follow me down a mountain bike trail or kayaking.

I've seen people do some pretty crazy shit with those on YouTube. There was even a guy who rigged his to fire a gun. I think someone rigged another one with a crossbow. I'm not a gun person by any stretch but those are kind of interesting. I remember seeing a video of a guy who played with his around his cat and the cat went nuts.

...I'm going to try to find that again. I hope it's still up. It was hilarious.

Actualy no not much maintenance nowadays. The electric are getting better all the time. No gas or oil mess with them, like the gas and nitro models. I switch to electric myself.... And yes they are just as fast if not faster. Some models come RTF ( ready top fly) for just over $100 and up. You can find smaller one for less to learn on.

I would rather clone you and make a Tiamo sandwich with me as the meat ;)

Yeah tell me about... I have lots tied up up in them. Just finished buidling the Mustang.. Now I am ready to the Dynam C-188 Crop Duster that looks like Dusty Crophopper on Disney's Planes movie... Like this one below, comes in blue and Orange, I got the orange like Dusty lol....It has a 5' wingspan on it:D

Looks like they used a drone to film it...:D

You should consider scratch building an LSA, even if you don't want to fly it yourself. You already have the skillsets to do it, just decide on a single or twin seat. Some of the LSA's use flat four VW engines.

Also, my brother tells me to to say drone, they are UAVs. I poke fun by saying in an official, serious voice, "unmanned aerial vehicle" everytime now.

like I said; I'm not sure I totally agree with the results. I seem to rate awfully high in all the categories. Does that mean I'm secretly more kinky than I thought I was?

It just means you took a rigged test. Just laugh about it. People who take that stuff seriously can be pretty funny.

Is it a experimental aircraft? VW engine cool, the old air cooled ones. I was looking at a real p-51 mustang the other day. he wanted $65,000 for it... was a clone. If had that money I would have jumped on it... Cool looking plane. most was fiberglass panels.

Yeah. Most LSA (light sport aircraft) are experimental. The air cooled VW does fine in a few of them. I might look for an incomplete project plane, that's the cheapest way to go. If you need any info let me know and I'll recommend a couple of planes.

Cool, actually thinking about getting a pilot license out at the local county airport close to my house.

Tiamo box is full again lol

Do it! A Light Sport License is the least expensive and if you do your due diligence in finding an instructor and the right planes you can have a lot of fun. The LSA license is what I went after but your limited in what you can rent to fly.

My uncle let me fly and land his plane once. My brothers were soooo jealous.

Some guys are of the opinion that girls could never handle equipment like they could.
It is so awesome seeing the stereotype get squished every f'n time. ;)

I know a girl that just got hers a while back. Dont know what she got, but it cost her about 3000.00 to do it and now she is trying to get gyro. She wants to also fly copters.

Yeah #3k sounds about right for an LSA. The gyrocopters are pretty cool but I don't care much for the helicopters. I watched a guy flying a backpack motor parasail once. It looked fun.
