With a wild surmise like stout Cortez?

Well, not this time. I generally like him better. To the extent that I think any poetry that isn't East Asian is worth being considered poetry, of course.

It's funny, out of all the poetry they made us read at school, that one image stuck in my mind of Cortes and his men staring at the Pacific for the first time. Probably because it was a chapter header in Swallows and Amazons.

i don't. the last time they put chips in one of their burritos it was fucking vile. well, at least time i tried one. it was very hot, but in a very disgustingly flavorless manner.

Have you read Mallarme's Un Coup de Dés Jamais N'Abolira Le Hasard?

Or, more traditionally, Le Dormeur du Val, by Rimbaud? Or...

Of course you have, and I have taken you too literally.

But could you recommend any non-Chinese poets for a complete novice? I have read the Classic of Poetry and a few other Chinese poems, and of course some Japanese haikus, but very little else. Are there any good translations?

Boy are you going to regret that.

Although she did post something a few years back that reminded me pleasantly of Beckett.

Fucking bees.

Ate through the plaster on the 2nd story wall under the eve and built a huge ass hive.

Spray won't reach and I'm sure as fuck not getting in a ladder to go up close.
