A sexually-transmitted "superbug" that is on the verge of becoming untreatable is sweeping across Britain, health experts warn. Cases of the drug-resistant gonorrhoea strain have been confirmed in West Yorkshire, the West Midlands, London and the North East.

Experts fear it will soon develop a resistance to the second drug - and there are no others in reserve. Health officials are urging the public to limit casual sex and wear condoms with a new partner. More than half of women and one in ten men never see symptoms so may pass on the infection unaware. But they are at risk of serious complications and untreated, the disease can cause infertility or inflammation of the womb. It is particularly dangerous for pregnant women and may lead to miscarriage, premature labour or sight problems in the baby.

Doctors are also worried as the strain is now being reported in gay men so may start spreading even more quickly.

Gonorrhoea is the second most common STD after chlamydia and is spread through unprotected sex.

Celibacy will be the only friend for Brits very soon.

Reportedly, the Bank of England is paying massive tributes to middle-aged, hard-up American women of Japanese ancestry to take Britain's most egregiously infected bathhouse vets as their girlyboy toys to save limeyland itself from certain epidemic disaster.

Link?

No different than anything else we treat with antibiotics. Sooner or later it gets tougher and comes looking for some payback.

I read this morning somewhere that cases of ghonorrhea and chlamydia have skyrocketed amongst populations that are clean-shaven, male and female.
The study showed that cases were up by over 85% in 5 years for shaved and only 12% for unshaved.
I will hunt for the link.... (but for the life of me, I can't remember what site it was!)

Food for thought wq.

I see also that rates for STI's are increasing more quickly for 60+ yo's in comparison to prior years and also to the 15-30 age group.

Life is an STD.

The cure is obvious.

As for sex with Brits, I can't complain.

First they have nothing to eat, and now they get the super gonorrhea?

God really hates the Brits.

I think we've missed this altogether, each of us adding the word "death" though it's just not there.

If true, this is most unsettling.

Ignorance is bliss amongst the unclean.

Oh, I make a point of keeping myself informed, I just never get the opportunity to practice these days  I suppose it's just a side effect of being old enough to remember when motorbikes were dangerous and sex was safe. With all the stuff out there that can kill you and is getting harder to cure, I'm not sure I'd want to be starting out these days.

Ok, I'm shutting up before I get really boring. Or depressing. Or both
