As far back as I can remember there were MEN'S and LADIES public toilets. Even in grade school there were rooms for BOYS and GIRLS.
On the plus side back then everyone could tell the difference in BOYS and GIRLS by how they looked and dressed.
Now the world is full of faggots, queers, lezzys, and regular politicians.

Many new built toilets in the UK are unisex with individual cubicles which have washbasins.
In Bayeux, France, just by where tourist coaches deliver their passengers, there is a line of toilet cubicles which are mainly unisex, with a few marked as urinals only.
The result is a very short queue of women wanting a toilet.
A shopping mall in Essex has three times as many cubicles for women as urinals for men. It is one of the things that makes it a popular shopping destination. The women don't have to queue. The men don't have to stand around outside the women's toilets waiting for their wives, girlfriends and daughters to get to the head of the queue.

The people getting sexually assaulted in men's toilets are boys who are too old for the ladies room, and want to go in the men's by themselves. And seriously, if a man wants to rape a woman, is the little sign on the door wearing a skirt going to prevent him going in and raping her?
That's why family/unisex bathrooms are a good idea, to my mind. I hated having to let the boys use a men's room by themselves, and I would stand with my foot in the door, calling "I'M WAITING RIGHT OUTSIDE!"
