The Isolated Blurt Thread XXVI: Spring Forward

We had some impressive hail yesterday. But it's been very odd. I enjoy thoroughly four season climates, and this year this place has not offered it. I'm cold today, but not 'winter' cold, just grey, wet England cold. ( I am under a duvet with a hot water bottle, and a cat, while the other cat is helping G feed the dogs).

It's been odd here. Really sunny then bleak and cold. Pip has been catching bees on the lawn all afternoon. Cute bastard. He's much better. I've also noticed since he had his giant sinister bollocks removed him and Ruby have bonded a bit.

I have been told that only the tourists use those.

No, I have seen them on the tables of some of your local church goers. Perhaps they were put out for me and my family? The little crabbies are good, but the energy to shell some meat is greater than what's contained in the meat. In short, a crab feed is a nice fest, but it's like eating celery.

Another engineer at work tells me the same. He would prefer a steak over crab any day.

I cannot for the life of me get the meat out of crabs, lobsters, whatever.

I have to have the youngest get it out for me.

Go for soft shell in season. No muss, no fuss. No shell. Battered and deep fried, just eat the whole damned thing.

Seriously?!?

I thought it was one of King's best!

Yea but I read King for horror. I just finished Finders Keepers last week cause I knew the next one is out next month.

I loved Revival, wish he would go back to those kind of stories.

I've always read him for his non horror works. For some reason it seems his character development is better in the non horror books.

My opinion of course. I hate horror flicks anyway.

Which week of the year is that?

I think they molt more than once a season, and of course it's different times in different waters. I've had soft shell on the Outer Banks at Memorial Day and Barnegat Bay in August.

Not read that but a mate of mine reckons I would. Didn't like the detective one much.
