Comic genius is a term often over used but not in this instance. A true legend of British comedy.

R.I.P. little fella.

:(

Fork handles!!!

I remember watching The Two Ronnies when I was a kid.

Sad to hear he's gone.:(

Never heard of him. I avoid british comedy at all costs.

After a series of crimes in the Glasgow area, Chief Inspector McTavish has announced that he is looking for a man with one eye. If he doesn't find him, he's going to use both eyes.

LOL, I just rewatched the sketch where he's snorting coke with Ricky Gervais in the bogs at the BAFTAs.

Ha! I'd forgotten about that. The whole Amarillo thing with Peter Kay got on my tits after a bit but him genuinely falling during the filming of it was hilarious. Parky's face was priceless.

He may have been small but fuck - his intellect was huge!
His armchair monologues were so clever and I don't understand how he kept track of all his apparent ramblings, to make them all fall into place at the end.

Really, he was sheer genius with a big dollop of loveliness. :rose:

I am so sorry, I don't know him. I will check out the link. Again, I'm so sorry.

A very good and decent guy. And, in some circles at least, actually a bit of a style icon due to his support of great tailoring and materials.

Was he funny? He was fucking funny.

I'd heard a few derogatory things about him, ie: little man syndrome, grumpy bastard, prima donna, etc. But always found him very good with Ronnie Barker, esp the 'Mastermind' and 'Fork Handles' sketches. I just assumed he was useless without his partner.

Anyway, reluctantly if I'm honest, went along to see him in Southend around 15 years ago. Every joke, for around two hours, was about his height....but I was fuckin' pissin' myself! The joke never wore thin. And when he went on to say he went through customs with his full length passport, that finished me and was actually crying....

RIP little fella

Yeah avoid British comedy. Then you won't clue in to how US copies so often. In fact don't watch any foreign English speaking films or TV shows then you can revel in the originality of American TV in complete ignorance.

How can you not watch Monty Python? I guess Peter Sellers is off the list too. Don't know what you are missing!

Three's Company=Man About the House much much better
Almost Human British version brilliant! US version LAME O!

Ronnie was like a pioneer. Live studio and radio stuff. Brilliant!

Four Yorkshiremen with Marty Feldman. 'oo would 'a thought...
