In my experience the best sex happens when both partners really want to please each other. That can lead to a sensational session... :)

I'm domineering in the bedroom, but not for selfish gain. My mindset is perpetually searching for every way to drive my partner up the wall and back down. I like having control, and I exert it, but my primary goal is her mind-numbing satisfaction.

With Easter behind us let's move our thoughts to religion. (See what I did there) I'm not sure of the religious composition of the people at Lit, so for this conversation I'm going to assume half believe in a higher spirit. Maybe we have different names for it, maybe the beliefs aren't all identical but there is belief. That said, how is it possible that those of us with religious beliefs can come to an online sex site, with the vast majority engaging in sexual activities with someone other than our spouse, and still maintain our religious beliefs? Are we all destined for our appropriate "hell"? Are we huge hypocrites? Is it okay to ask for forgiveness and just keep coming back?

Non-religious type are encourage to reply, let's just keep the pure religion bashing to a minimum.

Neither my Higher Power, nor my BF, have any problems with my Lit activity. I've talked to both of them about it. They think it's cute. :cattail:

I shall Keep Coming Back :)

The god I believe in wants us to have orgasms and be happy. If (s)he didn't, why did (s)he create clits and penises and g-spots and prostates and dildos and magic bullet vibrators and anal beads and nipple clamps (not the toothy kind... those were created by satan)?

Also, hitachi magic wands!!

Plus also my BF's hands. :D

We are humans and give in to sin. God already knows this about us. Doesn't make it right. We're all in our own unique circumstances. Faith is about believing. I disagree with some of the stances my church takes, but that doesn't mean I reject the whole thing. Faith and a higher power should reflect acceptance and love, not rules and going to some sort of hell in the after life.....in my opinion.

Hahaha. Best. Response. Ever. ::D

"During the medieval period, around 1200, we see the invention of the first penis ring. Strangely enough, it involved taking the eyelids of goats, which were flexible, and tying them around a man's erection."
Can you imagine the conversation that lead to that discovery?

"Little John, I was with Marian last night, and my sword would not stay straight."
"Well, Robin, why don't you tie something around your sword, to make it stiffer."
"Like what?"
"Why, I would think a goat's eyelid would do the trick."
"Verily"

Too funny!

My girl crush is strong on this one.

What on earth did they use for lube? Hmmmmmm.

The article suggest olive oil as one of the early lubricants. My hunch as as long as they were using eyelids as cockrings, a little vitreous humour would work well as lube.

Maybe because they are not truly believing what they claim to practice and believe in. You either believe in your religion, or more so, believe in your vows, one of which is to forsake all others, or you don't.

Are we all destined for our appropriate "hell"?

Each and every moment of our lives, every situation, presents us with the choice to either act from love, or from the ego. The more we choose love, the closer we are to God, and the closer we are to seeing ourselves as part of him instead of separate. When we choose ego, we are choosing not to love. We are choosing separateness. Each time we don't choose love for another, we are also choosing not to love ourselves. No sense in worrying about "going" to hell. We are creating it for ourselves here on earth.

Are we huge hypocrites?

Yes. But that is a judgment. We are humans. We make mistakes and that's okay. We can't ever change, if that's what we want to do, what we first don't acknowledge. If you don't want to be a hypocrite, then do your very best not to be one.

Is it okay to ask for forgiveness and just keep coming back?

Sure, I imagine so. We have free will. We can choose whatever we'd like to. We are always forgiven in the eyes of God. But the path to true forgiveness and in receiving his love for ourselves is in seeking repentance. We have to truly accept ourselves lovingly, raise our self awareness, and do this with the pure intention of correcting the mistake, of deciding to make a different choice, to decide to choose love. We have to decide to stop choosing not to love ourselves. Anything other than that just seems, to me, to be the continuous cycle of guilt. Something like... I choose my ego over love, do something unloving, feel guilty, then project that blame onto someone else or myself. Now, I've gotten my guilt fix, so I must not be all that bad, or maybe I am and "to hell with it all", thus enabling me to perpetuate the cycle all over again.

I don't practice organized religion, although I do have a deep regard for it. My thoughts are a reflection of where I am on my spiritual path, the point to which my soul and consciousness have evolved. I know there is so much more. I pray to live out each and every moment of my life with the awareness of being bathed in his love. I know this is most likely not going to happen in my lifetime but I have had those fleeting moments of bliss, of utter peace and contentment, of a heart so wide open and so overflowing, and my God, I am so grateful. I often crave and hope for and seek the experience of choosing love all of the time, of feeling what it's truly like to "be" love, to dwell in heaven.
