Numbers next to story titles

The numerical order in which to read the stories. The playground is better at all this than we are. Good counters, they are.

Hello, noob question. What are the numbers next to story titles?
Thanks
Well right or wrong, for me they are the chapter I am on. I began as "Pt 1" then realized it should be "Ch 1".

Within those stories I also added pt 1 + when they are a new series within the story.

Don't take my word for it. I'm confused but having fun.

He he! May be I did not make myself clear... All stories have numbers like (4.71), (3.83) next to them. What are these numbers for?

There are two sorts of numbers:

1. Chapter or Part numbers for a series of linked stories.

My story Brigit is titled Brigit Pt. 01

It is the first of three stories about Brigit.

2. In the url for a story, the number following the title shows how many stories with that title had been written when this particular story was posted.

My story Photo Shoot is the 23rd story with that title.

The url for Brigit Pt. 01 doesn't show either number because when I wrote it it was the first story with the title Brigit, AND I had no intention of writing more parts. It has been retitled retrospectively.

That's not the admins that do that, though, it's the FBI.
I did notice some of my stories have a small yellow "H" I believe and one had a red BED.
They seem to come and go. I do believe the FBI has something to do with it.

They're how many people actually read the story. When it's a decimal, it means that only part of a person read it.

Those are the ratings - the average of the votes cast from 1 to 5. A 'Hot' story has a Red H and is rated at 4.50 or above, so most of the votes must have been 5s with a few at 4 or lower.

The other markers are a Green E - Editor's Choice which means Laurel liked it; and a Blue W means that it won or was placed in a Literotica Contest.

From across the sea, far far away, we get a logical answer. Thank you sir or madam. :rose:

As a King, my form of address should be 'Your Highness' if you are one of mine, or 'Tyrant', 'Oppressor' etc if you are not.

There is one other marker - a Yellow N for a New story.
