What's cookin', good lookin'? Part II

There was much talk of expensive decorated cupcakes so I looked around for some inspiration to try my hand at making some. No, this is not a shaggy dog story.

We are eating the last leftovers from Christmas to get more room in the freezer.

Head cheese and fried eggs yesterday and the last of the Swedish Köttbullar on sandwiches today.

After dinner we are starting to cook for the Easter buffé - vitello tonnato.

That's on my to-do list for such a long time, it's embarassing. I love tuna.

I want to wake up next to you just to get that breakfast.

It's a favourite here too.
We use the Artusi recipe. Holler if you want it.

*visions of the whole what's cooking-thread crammed together in Meeks' bed*

 I'm going to need a bigger bed.

Sorry, didn't mean to scare you.:)

And a lot more toast :)

Yes, let's focus on the important things in life.:D

Lot of cooking here today.
Lambroast grilled, salmon mousse is ready to be served as are the crackers.
The torta al limone is going into the oven.
Potato salad left to do.

Just the herring course, and the Saint Agur with pear, walnuts and endive left to do tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure I'm doing Easter wrong now

"Just" a lamb dinner, usually :)

Well, this is Sweden. We can't celebrate anything without eating herring and I don't want my mother in law to kill me or anything.:D

Lamb is not traditional here really. The focus is more on spring things like egg and chicken. Some people eat ham for some reason. Probably because the herring makes them confuse it with Christmas or maybe because it means you can fix the Easter food with readymade things and only boil the eggs.

For us birthday season just started too, so we are having hordes of relatives visiting.
Buffét makes it a bit easier on the household. People get less fussy with seating and things when you are not having the formal dinner thing going.

New season Lamb is Spring too.....:D And then there is '
Lamb of God and so on. I have all ways taken quite some pleasure where tradition is lamb for Easter, it is joyfully accepted 'He is risen indeed' then every one sits down to eat his metaphorical self..

Not as much sheep farming here as in other parts of the world though.
We like lamb though, so that's why we do include it.
