Today's verdict will shape the conversation around the treatment of (alleged) sexual assault victims.

Should be a barn-burner!

Jian Gomeshi verdict... I'm so excited i forgot to add his name.

Acquittals across the board for Jian.

Of course the real discussion will surround whether it is appropriate to vigourously cross-examine a sexual assault complainant at trial....when the complainant is a woman.

Should women be automatically believed in all sex assaults?

(that way, they could just make a call and have a guy thrown in jail!)

It's too bad that one witness messed up the evidence. He is 100% guilty. At least his career is ruined.

Actually, all the witnesses were caught in lies.

Thankfully, the judge saw through their deceptions.

I thought they withheld information to manipulate the evidence to work in their favour? It's unfortunate the York University students who complained about Jian assaulting them didn't report it to the police as instructed by their advisor at the time it happened.

Good discussion going on in the (canadian) media about how the credibility of an alleged sexual assault victim ought to be given greater weight than the rules of evidence allow.

Basically, womens rights advocates are suggesting we move the sticks for female assault victims, which is a bit silly on the face of it.

Does their argument have legs?

I don't know if their argument has legs, but I do know all the laws concerning rape were passed by men so it's no wonder girls/women are crucified on the witness stand which the rapist is treated with kid gloves.

Nonsense.

Only when they're spread.

Sorry, I know it's inappropriate for me to laugh at his joke.
But I just watched the board and I see that "eyorobeast" is on a spree again lol.
