I'm thinking about applying for the vacant SCJ job.

You need a law degree, I think you have to have actually been in court. You need to get approved by congress so you need to either be successful politically or have someone with power and friends behind you.

It would be nice if the Supreme's had to pass the Supreme Court Bar exam which is on constitutional law, but it is not a requirement.

So, I might need to take a couple classes...

Maybe you can get there through a people's choice award. An AHL goon made good in the NHL All-star game by that route. Trump might get Rep nod as candidate through that and only that means.

Maybe even make yourself a few bucks. Get a cut out of each $1.99/call.

Go back to the av of the nice little titties and you will have my vote.

No, neither.

No.

There are no qualifications to become a Justice - Joe the Carpenter can be nominated by the President and confirmed by the Senate. Period.

I stand corrected:)

As noted, anybody may be nominated and confirmed.

Make that any THING -- nothing in the Constitution requires a justice or judge to be human, unlike elected officials. (Read Article III and see.)

We could constitutionally have a dog, gibbon, robot, alien, squid, or potted fig tree sitting on a judicial bench.

Perhaps we already do.

Ask Harriet Myers how that worked out.

As someone other than a defendant?

I worked with lawyers fro many years. They generally fall into 3 groups. One group makes a good living from law, the 2nd group are dum and work for public agencies, the 3rd group are really dum and are judges.

Please answer the following questions on your Supreme Court Employment form:
1. Have you ever read the Constitution?
2. Do you believe that judges do not have the Constitutional power to make laws?
3. Are you honest?

If you answered no to all the above you are now a candidate for the Supreme Court.

4. Essay question. (Since they no longer teach students to write in school you may draw pictures with your crayon for this.)

Do you believe you will make a good political zombie that will give any decision before you based on your political masters orders?

A happy face with a red star or black swastika will do and get you before the committee.

The Committee is made up of a dingo, a wolf and a coyote. You as a fox with feathers in your mouth and egg on your face will be asked ethical questions such as did you raid the hen house.

don't worry, they will pass you no matter how stupid your lie is.

Welcome to the court.

Use to be a legal clerk and court recorder and I agree with you. One thing I never heard is a lawyer or judge use the words justice and the law in the same sentence. Also the lawyer you should always keep a close eye on is your own. Remember they make their money off you so a delay in trial, useless phone calls to you, etc. just adds your money to their pocket. So always remember they work for you and like any boss you have to make sure they do their job and don't rip you off.
