"Night is purer than day; it is better for thinking and loving and dreaming. At night everything is more intense, more true. The echo of words that have been spoken during the day takes on a new and deeper meaning." (Elie Wiesel)
I used to keep a notebook by my bed for jotting down dreams, poems, notes, story ideas... things that kept me up at night. Sharing a bed with someone makes flicking on the light at odd hours rather rude so I've turned to a little screen on its dimmest setting, often emailing myself so I can look back at my thoughts in the morning. I think it could be fun to share these on a more public level... or at least share the poems to a few strangers in this little corner of the internet.
I welcome and encourage feedback and participation from other night owls (and even from you early birds sipping your coffee or the lunch-break-Litsters or anyone else with something to say). I make no promises to follow poetry, grammar, or any other "rules" at these hours. This thread will be raw but feel free to critique because some nighttime ramblings shape up nicely with some fine tuning... Like writing drunk and editing sober.
