Super Bowl Predictions.....

I'd like to see Payton retire a super bowl champ but that isn't going to happen. Carolina is too healthy, too big, too strong. It's going to be another steam roller affair, how can anyone thing otherwise?

Rather than see another butchering of the national anthem and another lame SB halftime show, I'm going to make Chicken avocado Quesadilla's then afterwards watch Nacho Libre while eating Nacho's and drinking Angry Orchards.

I expect terrorist attacks.

Probably not by Tamil Tigers.

And not only inferior guacamole.

One sincerely encouraging facet so far is opinions overall are sounding almost exactly like they did before the Broncos last game...

Lots of reflections on Manning's legacy.

Some sort of racist bullshit lobbed at Cam Newton.

Lots of people rooting for Manning to get one more despite the fact that he blew it twice and only beat Rex Grossman.

Halftime show's a letdown.

Doritos commercial is the funniest of them all and gives my pregnant wife - who craves Cool Ranch Doritos - a serious wall-climbing craving.

Game's over by the end of the first quarter when the Panthers go up by two TDs. Rest of the game's a slog.

Panthers 33, Broncos 17.

BULLOCKS!! Have you ever played football?

It's Bollocks not Bullocks. Bullocks are steers. Bollocks are balls. Is English not your first language.

If you actually engage in playing the game for 15 minutes out of 2 hours of game time, you are an over paid salesperson. A diversion between commercials. Probably more commercial time than playing time. And not standing on the sidelines. I mean actually running, passing or kicking the ball.

American football is best played on a video game system.

What is the point of comparing sports? Different rules, players, positions, requirements for those positions, types of balls, types of fields, strategies, coaching methods, training methods, fan expectations and so on.

A football player is tougher than a baseball player and more active. Well, no shit.

A rugby player is tougher and has more endurance than a football player. Possibly. Depends on each athlete. Assuming it's all true though...well, no shit.

Football players wear pads and helmets. Again, no shit. Different sport, Frances.

Only three days removed from championship Sunday, I predict that by the time the SB is ready to kick off....

We will know every players favorite song, the name of their child hood coach and what their nick name in grade school was.

An SB win/loss changing Manning's legacy is something that's talked about to have something to talk about. A second win or a third loss is not going to change anything.

He's one of the best ever, first ballot hall of famer, ton of records etc...whatever people think of his 'legacy' now isn't going to change.

Good point about Grossman, the Bears were a bad SB team, but there's a lot of those and someone has to beat them(personally the seahawk team the Steelers beat has to be the worst IMO)

I won't know any of that chit. I tune out the white noise. Kickoff of game day. That's all that matters to me.

I think what I am most interested in seeing is Denver's strength, that pass rush, vs Newton.

Between the Pat's horrific O-line and the fact Brady can't run worth a damn they had a perfect scenario to succeed.

I don't know much about the Panther's O=line but hell, it has to be better than the Pats. And if they send the house against Newton and he slips past them he's gone, they're going to have to respect that and put a spy on him.

On the other hand if they keep him in the pocket it could mess with him because he likes to run.

The first quarter will tell this game. Denver is built on D and keeping the game close by limiting the other team and making a big play when it counts.

The longer the game stays close the more it favors the Broncos. If Caroline starts as hot as they have and gets up 14-17 points Denver is not built to come from behind like they were a couple years ago.

I would never bet on Denver in the Superbowl, or Manning for that matter.

I'll be pulling for Carolina because of the fucktard Broncos fan knocking over a Porta Potty with a Patriots fan inside.

Have the under at 46 and its dropping. Now at 45 a lot of shops. Public squares love the over so it may bet bet back up - I wasn't willing to risk that and took the 46 before the drop.

I'm not going to predict anything on this one, or bet anything on it, because if I did I would have to favor the Panthers, realistically. Since I would rather see the Broncos win, I don't want to put myself in a situation where I'm rooting against them while watching the game.

So I caught an article today saying that after that bus accident several Bronco's players-not mentioned which-are complaining of soreness and headaches.

I'm wondering if the NFL shouldn't have them go through the concussion protocol?

Then again, this is the SB, the money will supersede any health issues of the players:rolleyes:

Heart or head? That is always the conundrum.

Heart: I desperately want to see Peyton go out on top and get the credit he rightly deserves as the GOAT. Also, I really dislike Cameron Newton and I just do not want to see that kid win.
Broncos win!

Head: The Panthers are a more battle hardened team against better opponents and they win convincingly. They play hard and they are hungry. Dangerous combination. And yeah, Cam Newton is pretty good.
Panthers win!

Manning is most likely(although you never know down the line the way the rules keep making it easier for passing) the GOAT statistically already, hands down. But many view GOAT in the ring department which right now is shared by three people at 4 each although Bradshaw is never mentioned because he didn't play in a pass happy league.

Heart= Carolina simply because they have never won a Superbowl and many times that's what I end up rooting for if I have no other vested interest. Also I'm tired of the attitude-and its not Manning's its the leagues-that he is owed this win somehow.

Head= tough, but I think Panthers. Everyone is high on Denver's pass rush-with good reason-but they forget the Pats line was horrific and Brady is about the most immobile QB out there. Go back a week prior and they did not get near Big Ben anywhere near that oftem because Pitt's O-line was better.

Also they edge rush Newton-which is what they killed Brady with-he's gone, even if its only a few yards every time its yards not a sack.

Denver can't score a lot of point. Panthers get up by two TD's their defense can start teeing off on Manning.

To Denver though the longer the game stays close the more it favors them. That D always seems to make a play.

What I'd love to see, but doubt I will is this scenario: Panthers do what they did the last two Playoff games and jump out to a huge lead. I mean 21-0 28-7 that lead.

Does Kubiak pull Manning? Would he have the heart to do it?

I doubt it will get there though, that defense shouldn't get blown out.

Newton's become a really good pocket passer so pinning him there could backfire, and he's got the skills to break out.

I've never heard a conversation regarding the greatest QB's of all time that didn't include Bradshaw and Marino.
