Unfortunately (for you), that's exactly the modus operandi that Karen used when establishing alts on the GB.

There is software that will generate webpages. Microsoft Word will actually do it.

KK had at least one website in the early days that I remember for "blogging". When Marxist and Honeylick were doing a lot of digging on Skylar, I took a look at the HTML code on KK's main website page. At the very bottom of the code it showed who the software was registered too. Ken didn't realize the software would do that.

When I posted about it, within an hour the website pages were stripped of that bit of info. If I remember correctly, KK claimed the software belonged to her "employer". Roughly about that time, the "Call Me Kevin" nick appeared. He was supposed to be a lawyer. He posted about hiring KK as an intern.

Let us not go that far. I had very little interaction with her.

One of the first threads I opened she was being attacked ruthlessly. (I did not understand this was the GB way). I pointed out that her posts were much more thought out and intelligent than her attackers. (VBM was the primary I think), and the statement she made about her life was plausible. It was. It is also true she was not stupid. To someone new, and not getting how much people lied here, Ithe attacks she was getting for mentioning someone she knew was a ambassador or some shit like that made no sense.

She was very witty and funny, but her humor could not be classified as anything else but male.

The brash and abusive style did make me wonder a little.

For me, the difference between them was that KRC wasn't really trying to sell being a woman like KK had been. Many of the tantrums KK went through whenever anyone questioned "her" were legend.

The fallout from that one spread its tentacles over the GB for years, and directly or indirectly led to several people leaving the site. Certainly a major contender.

I wasn't posting when either was finally outed. KK was better drama over the years. Quite a few people saw through that facade. If Ken hadn't hired the actress, I would've held to my belief. In hindsight, I still should've even with the videos Ken made of her.

I don't remember anyone really thinking KRC was catfishing.

Remember that "Karen Kraft" also had the audio stories posted here -- they might still be up -- using that same actress.

Then there was the "Call Me Kevin" alt whose sole purpose was to vouch for the brilliance of young Ms. Kraft, and whose profile pic was the fat lawyer himself. The whole thing was elaborate on a truly insane scale.

Why KRC posed as a woman, who the hell knows. Maybe he had a deep need to reveal photos of himself being strap-on fucked by his wife, but knew he couldn't post them under a male ID? It's as logical a guess as any.

It died down because people were more sensitive to the victim's feelings than with other dramas, and because KRC didn't have a lot of defenders after the outing, and because KRC immediately stopped posting. There were simply no flames to feed.

KK brazened out serious accusations for years and managed to convince at least one of her vocal doubters to actually change his mind about her being a man.

Perhaps the KRC drama fizzled out because people were too embarrassed to admit they'd openly befriended a total fucking wanker. He was abusive and mean. All the time. Sure, sometimes it was funny. A lot of the times it wasn't. And a lot of people here chose to overlook that fact. He was a prick.

Tell you what got me though. So fucked up. Those people who chose to overlook the fact that KRC was a fucking prick -AFTER- the news broke that he was actually a man.

"Oh but he was my friend because he was funny and liked TV a lot".

Seriously.

no, i talked to her about movies because i like talking about movies. when she stopped doing that because she couldn't steal the fuckers anymore we really didn't have anything in common. also, dude started posting little bitchy things in response to me, so fuck him. by the time they were outed we were not friends even in the meaningless sense often used around here.

Ken finally gave up, and the board is a better place now.

I'm not convinced this is true. The "McKayla Maroney" alt is very Ken-esque.

He pulled off Karen for 10 years. Hard to imagine anyone that determined could quit completely.

KRC had one single advantage over every other catfish. He had access to photos of the woman he presented as himself, and she aged normally through the years. Naked pics when that kind of thing was in vogue, and later the "I don't do that kind of thing, anymore," thing, just as a dozen or so other veteran female litsters have done.

What made the difference was the face av's, which appeared about once a year. Each one, appropriately a year older. Hard to call bullshit on that.
