I will have to go KRC. No one was fucked under false pretense with the whole KK thing.

KRC had the element of shock, but it died down within....maybe 4 days or less. Unheard of.

The KK thing was a lot more drawn out with many deleted threads, photographic evidence, starred out names. Not to mention an unbelievably elaborate cover-up by the protagonist herself/himself. It was like a miniseries.

I suspect it is because she had a lot more "friends".

I wasn't posting when either was finally outed. KK was better drama over the years. Quite a few people saw through that facade. If Ken hadn't hired the actress, I would've held to my belief. In hindsight, I still should've even with the videos Ken made of her.

I don't remember anyone really thinking KRC was catfishing.

It died down because people were more sensitive to the victim's feelings than with other dramas, and because KRC didn't have a lot of defenders after the outing, and because KRC immediately stopped posting. There were simply no flames to feed.

I'm not shocked that she turned out to be a dude. It just didn't stand out like it did with KK. Ken's biggest mistake was the rape story in the early days that was so full of problems that made it unbelievable. Then I found KK's website "blogs" were generate with software that was registered to "Ken Tenn(e)n". That was more than enough for me back then.

I also remember KK having people call her in the early days to prove "she" was really a she. The deal with that though is you had to call this phone number and leave your number on an answering machine. Then some time later a girl would call you back who talked enough of "the talk" to be KK.

Ken went through a whole lot to try to prove things, but it was always his undoing.

While Sonny rightfully deserves his spot in the Literotica Pantheon of Heroes for his skilled and artful takedown of Ken/Karen, it's worth noting that Cheyenne played an important part too in teh Curbstomping of Karen.

After being outed, Ken/Karen fell back on his familiar routine to restore "Karen's" credibility...brazen it out, non-stop ad hominem, accusing haters of being fat, and using an army of alts to rebuild "her" rep.

At every single turn, though, Cheyenne was there with an appropriate bitchslap.

Ken finally gave up, and the board is a better place now.

You could very well be correct. When the rape story fell apart, KK's tone really seem to change. It felt a little like a "reboot" even back then. I just figured it as Skylar backtracking to undo the rape story mess.

well, they could've said things that weren't total bullshit for starters. instead it was just damage control then silence. of course, that's par for the course. there were quite a few born again revisionists in the wake of the karen kraft thing as well. people lie. you get used to it after awhile.

as i said at the time i'd occasionally wonder why all her pics were of her, but never by her but i never even came close to taking that thought any further.
