You know that's not a bad per night price on that villa, I wonder if it includes maids and a cooking staff? If it does that's a steal of a deal. And here little ole me is just trying to finagle finding a duplex in a reasonable part of FL. Rent one side of it and use the other side for vacations.

LOL we might or might not have different interpretations on a vacation house kept in another state. For me its something to use and share with friends and family but also make pay for most of its overhead. I almost bought a studio condo in Destin a few years back with the intentions of leasing it when I wasn't using it. A duplex is essentially two separate houses connected together. So you get income from one either by seasonal or long term lease and have your own available whenever you want it. Most folks I know who do this keep a small car and a boat on site for recreational purposes. Property values are on the uptake in FL again though so its not going to be as cheap as a year or two ago. Who knows?
