Hi all. Just started writing stories and they are of the sissy/cuckold/forced bi variety. Gotten several comments/emails that basically say, "you're a gay fag and we don't want you here". Well, I'm actually a straight switch, if it's all the same to you.

My stories are definitely out there, but it's a niche that some people really enjoy. I am upfront about the fetishes explored in my stories. Like, why are you reading my stories if you know it's not something you are going to enjoy?

So, my question is, should there be a procedure to reporting and disciplining hate speech in the comments section or does that defeat the whole point of a website dedicated to free sexual expression?

Literotica supports free speech.

But - you can report a particular comment, or you can just delete it.

Another way is to block anonymous comments, so that the person leaving a comment has to identify themself. That sometimes reduces the abusive comments, but doesn't eliminate all of them.

Go to your Member's Page, Main, Options and you can see the options to turn off anonymous comments, or all comments.

As Og says, Lit. is a bastion of free speech, and what you describe is actually pretty tame compared to some things that are posted. Even outright hate speech is acceptable, as long as it doesn't become too personal. That's on public comments and posts on the forums. Limitations on what is said in stories are much tighter.

People can be shitstains. Good thing is that shitstains fold like cheap lawn chairs.

Always keep that in mind, never stop creating and keep shouldering through the basterds.

You should write them back and thank them for using proper grammar! As an author you are well aware of how often your and you're get mixed up.

Then let them know that you are not "here" but "there".

Finally, ask them to write at least one more pm so that your mailbox is closer to being filled to the limit and if they ask nicely, you will see what you can do for them *wink*

Trolls are only effective if they get a reaction. Just nod and smile at them. You were important enough for them to bother with, consider it a compliment.

So "hate speech" is speech you hate?

Speech you love needs no protection.

As Og suggests, turn off anonymous comments. It cuts back slightly on the cowards except for of course the cowards willing to take the time and effort to have an alt specifically for trolling.

I've done just about every psychological test there is, I once volunteered to take the WAIS (Weschler Adult Intelligence Scale) in public because I knew what my score would be (within a point or two). I'm no brainiac but my IQ is high enough to get an M.D. or PhD degree....130 or so. 130 or so puts me in the top 2%. So when some asshead calls me a retard I don't get too excited. Its like, I know how tall I am and blow off anyone who says I'm a midget. Its bull shit.

When you know who you are its hard to insult you.

The ones who get upset don't really know, but suspect the worst. I can ruin their day with hardly any effort.
