Just to bring a pervy side to this story - Porn star Bonnie Rotten is one of the displaced residents.

This fuck up now has Erin Brockovich involved calling it, "Erin Brockovich: California Methane Gas Leak is Worst U.S. Environmental Disaster Since BP Oil Spill".

This is about a half hour from me so it's a big deal around here.

From what I understand, they're not going to be able to fix it for months yet.

Are they being sued by anyone? They should definitely have to pay billions for the damage that they're causing.

It's probably months for the fix but the damage is going to be felt for decades. FFS, the FAA is rerouting flight patterns. I haven't heard anything about a class action yet but the fine SoCal ambulance chasers are ready.

Where are the entrepreneur wildcatters to collect all that wasted gas? You know that the main gas company is going to have to raise prices to cover the repair costs, and a competitor could clean up there.

Definitely not good news and it is dangerous and expensive but certainly could be worse! I read it to not have an easy or Quick fix.

The gas companies involved and the State Should have already been working to get this fixed.

If regulation is not the problem then somebody needs a spanking.

It is only going to get worse and where else is it happening?

I give credit to SCE because a couple of Architects I know, ones very involved in the green movement, went to work for them a few years ago and have nothing but good things to say.
