why did they post this?

so I don't blame them for removing it

Even though I'm a 'BB fan' (by compertimentalizing ands distancing myself from the racist stuff, of course)
I personally agree with the admin.

The previous siggies were funny, whereas the last one was way out of line.
BB's posts are controversial enough, and the site owner put herself on the line quite a bit, in order to protect freedom of speech. But a siggy that can be interpreted by some as carrying a violent message - that's inappropriate and too risky, imo.

But Muslims violent message against the rest of the world is defended and tolerated with no issue?

And what risk is she taking? That pic is all over the internet.

Laurel's freedom of speech is as long as it doesn't bother her, or I'm sure in this case one of her whiny favs who she caters to.

1.I'm on Laurel's side re removing BB's last siggy. Because, at least the time that I've been here, she hasn't censured BB at all, imo, despite all the criticisms from other posters. So it was just one thing imo. Even I (as a committed BB fan) found it to be over the top and risky, so I can see her pov.


2.But I agree with you re the muslim thing.

I have my personal so-called 'ethical rule of thumb' re minoritiess:
- One might criticize but avoid unfairly attacking those who are in a country where they hold a minority status. Because there's a huge power imbalance in that.
- But one can certainly attack those who live in their own country. Because they are the majority there and are not disempowered.

GB is very odd when it comes to that, from my perspective. In their drive to be 'accepting' and PC, some posters pushed it too far as if they're the most ardent Islam supporters in the world. And ardent critics of Christianity.
It's weird times 10.
I can't say anything about a religion that openly states that men are superior to women, or that villifies gay individuals, or which in extreme cases approves of stoning adulterous women. Because I'm sure that I'll have a few 'lefties' jump on me and accuse me of being a racist.

Good lord, but that takes me back to when Laurel wanted Bush impeached over the missing Ws....

He either lied about them being missing or he did not follow up on the criminals, who were clearly not Republicans.

There's a very good point to this. When the net was new, the issue of porn was taken before the supreme court. In a 5-4 decision, all the free porn survived.
The next pres may get 2 or 3 sup crt picks. A guy like Bush could fill the court with ultr conservs that could overturn the ruling. And with a rep senate and house, they will be able to appoint anyone they want.
