6 out of 10 Americans don't know where Canada is, apparently.

41 per cent of Americans would support a wall on the Canadian border: poll

More than four in 10 Americans would support building a wall across the Canadian border. That's according to a Bloomberg poll released on Thursday that shows 41 percent of Americans would favour a "brick and mortar" wall along the Canadian border.

The Canada question was follow-up to a query on a Mexican border wall: "If a wall is good for the Mexico border, it is good for the Canada border as well?" The poll surveyed 1,001 American adults over 18 years old, and, according to Bloomberg, is accurate within 3.1 percentage points.

Bizarre as it may be, the idea of a wall along the Canadian border has some prominent supporters.

Last month, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker raised the idea on NBC's Meet the Press, when he was still a contender for the Republican presidential nomination.

*Please give Walker another chance. Trump says he likes Canada and doesn't want to build a wall up north. Walker is our only hope of having a wall built between Canada and the US. Please help us.*

41%???

I just want to know where they FOUND the people that they interviewed and asked.

I doubt that there are many illegal Canadian immigrants in the United States. I doubt that there are many legal Canadian immigrants in the United States. Canadians have more sense than to try to move to this mad house, legally or illegally.

My guess is that most people in civilized countries think of the United States as a violent, vulgar country run by the Republican Party for the rich with the enthusiastic support of white working class Republicans who are too stupid to know that by voting Republican they are voting against their economic interests.

When they look at the United States they see guns, crime, and poverty.

My guess is those 41% were not concerned with whether or not there were Canadians in the US as much as they were trying to be fair. One border at the bottom, one on top...in good democratic tradition. I don't really care what other countries see or think. But, ignorance fills both parties...no one wants to think for themselves, just along party lines. That's ignorant.

Not poverty so much. Maybe the income split is a bit more apparent in the US. In the west our poorest live better than some 3rd world shitholes. You have to be homeless to equate with some people in India. Guns yes. Gun crimes. Only developed nations citizens care about the guns. The 3rd world are quite used to guns and associated shit.

Lots of Canadian immigrants to the US. We do sometimes suffer a bit of a brain drain attracted to large US corporations. But our incomes and costs are close enough that economic migration doesn't occur. If things were that bad in the US, we would be seeing big increases in immigration from the US. Which for us would be sweet. New immigrants with virtually identical cultures and professional qualifications. The perfect immigrants. Unfortunately, you are our biggest customer. You suffer, we suffer. Canada seriously needs to divest it's trade. Not from an Anti-American POV, just because not good to rely on one customer.

The vast majority of Canadians may not like your guns but feel the US is generally safe to travel and live in. We are not likely to emigrate to a poor ghetto area though.

I laugh though to think anybody would consider it a feasible idea. It would take a national effort at incredible costs to build a northern wall. Watch the tree huggers stop it. It would impact on the cross border migrations of some animal species.

You'll have to pay for it.
And you'll be happy to do so.

Ok, I'll give you the hot curling girls...if they look like that I might just take it up, if I can stay awake. The only Canadian team worth my time is the Bellies. The New Westminster Salmonbellies that is.
