I had such a Friday.
2 glasses of some non-descript but drinkable red wine at book club tonight.
Not enough to feel the least bit intoxicated.
This December meeting is always the one we deliberately decide not to plan to discuss the book, giving us 2 months to read the selection over this busy holiday time.
It feels a bit morose. The first book club Christmas since one of our members has died of cancer... (We have been meeting for over a decade) and another has dropped out due to other aging issues.
It makes me feel old and very young at the same time being the youngster of the group.
I need more to drink, methinks.
Care to join me?

sipping a little rum laced eggnog this evening, out of my second favorite Eeyore cup.. :D

I honestly cannot drink wine out of a plastic cup. Or beer out of Styrofoam. I would rather pass, and enjoy the drinks at leisure some other time!

I can't even drink beer out of a bottle. I always imagine my mother with her horrified face.

Not that I've ever even seen my mother drink beer.

As teens we drank that icky boones farm or annie green springs wines, it was cheap and we could find someone to buy it for us but we had to hide the bottles outside in the yard so Dad wouldn't find them. So we would fill big slurpee cups with ice out of the freezer and go out to have our night time adventures on a friday night, stopping to add the wine before setting out on our ten speed schwins to find that night's party!

Well that's different!
Obviously you have to drink out of plastic before you are even old enough to own a cup!
Or, well, old enough to drink :p

The parents on our block were baffled about the filling of the cups with ice before we would disappear for hours every friday and saturday night.. I guess they figured we couldn't be getting in much trouble on our bikes. But we had a diverse bunch on our block, three different high schools represented from thee different towns.. We increased our party base tremendously!

Power out here due to a wind storm.

Drinking Irish cream. (Carolans)

Staying warm by the woodstove:heart:

I have had Carolans before. There is another that I prefer if I'm not drinking Bailey's. Can't remember what it's called, I wonder why not? :p

Power outage! I rather enjoy those, to be truthful. Especially when they last several hours. It's like camping out in your house :D

I rather enjoy the power outages too as long as they don't last too long. This one was about 12 hours.
Carolans is my preferred Irish cream. I am sure I haven't taste tested them all, but of the ones that are commonly available...it's what I stock. :)

Speaking of camping out in the house. Mister and I purchased a tiny grill and made plans to use it. We couldn't find a park that wasn't already in use so we took it to the back of the complex (it's sort of an awkward place but we don't have an appropriate balcony). We set up our lawn chairs, the grill and had a cooler with beers. We were very amused. The weather here changes quickly and before we could get fully set up it started raining. We packed up and ran inside. Bummed out we decided to set up the toaster oven and cook in that. We put our lawn chairs in the kitchen (a 3x5' space) and continued to drink from the cooler. We had a cook-in. :D

I have had a similar experience, finishing the day under an empty pavilion we were lucky enough to find. I like camping out in your own kitchen, though!! So convenient! :)
