What good is the "right to bear arms" if ya don't go out and use 'em? amiright?

Ok, but why?
What causes this?

American society now values popularity to the point of obsession. People post & tweet every little thing they do as if their lives are so interesting the whole world has to know. FFS Selfie sticks are for sale everywhere.

Think about it , between Social media, Hollywood, politicians , the "mainstream" media, everything is about popularity. Do you think the crazies don't see this and want their 15 minutes of fame too?

America loves fads and attention.
Remember streaking?
The lemming factor

This is not America - this is a few people out of the vast population.
There has to be a reason they become so disenfranchised..... it's not like America is a country where you have to choose between dieing of thirst and drinking water so contaminated it can kill you anyway (as in, loads more places around the world are much, much worse places to live).
Everything you could ever need to live a comfortable happy life is in the USA.... so, why???

The reason can't be popularity, surely?
Or even noteriety for that matter.
There has to be some huge thing going badly wrong for this to even be an option.

Unfortunately, there is some of that. Several of the shooters that were captured alive have mentioned it in subsequent interviews and interrogations. Some aspect of 'I wanted to be like ... ' or " I wanted to be famous'.

That's part of the reason that some news services have chosen not to print their names any more than necessary to relate the news.

I think Regan cut the funding of Mental health by the Federal government back in the 80's and no president or congress since has saw fit to restore it, let alone increase it. That's where Id start. Then I'd be going after big Pharma and these psychotropic drugs they push. Many of the these wacko's are usually on 1 or more of them. I don't see the value of a drug which treats a problem but creates side effects which are just as bad.

It's a mixed bag but my money is on mental heath as a bulk of the root cause. Religious reasons, Workplace axe to grind, Psychosis/mentally imbalanced (drugs contributing to that), Manchurian candidates, Fame. Social media or media in general are part of the problem too.

Remember the Colorado movie theater shooting? He thought he was the Joker from Batman.

Stop thinking. It was the ACLU that forced the closure of the nations mental health facilities via a series of Supreme Court ruling based on Habeas Corpus.

The names are generally public record going back 30 years or more. Maybe further. I can think of a few from the 70s.

I can't recall any of them being foreigners (aside from one very big event). Even the two in Boston lived here for years.

I got it half right. The shooters hit a city or county government Christmas party.
