Does anybody even use the site anymore?

I see all kinds of stories in the business pages about ads, deals, buying or selling one company or another, should the CEO stay or go, and so on. But I rarely see any of the tech or general sites talking about it. I haven't used it as a search or news site in quite a few years. I have a could of email addresses there that I started back in the 90s sometime. But they're so spam bloated I rarely use them for much.

So, do YOU Yahoo? And if so, for what?

I've started to use Yahoo for search because Google, for reasons I'll never fathom, has started interrupting my search queries demanding non-bot verification. Pisses me the fuck OFF!

I still use Yahoo for email.

I used to use Yahoo Adult Groups extensively until they started blocking links, deleting Groups for unspecified violations, and then the change to 'New (**** improved) Groups" wrecked them.

Most of the Groups I used to belong to and participate in have become spam infested and abandoned by their moderators. There are a few shining exceptions, but very few.

I tried a couple of times, but the layout sucked and I could never get used to it. I prefer boards like this.

I have a yahoo email that I rarely check. I do love to go to the main yahoo page and ready their stories, especially if they are about Ohio State.

Have an email account but never use it. Have chat but no one ever talks.

Right now I use it for news and for combating the Russian trolls about their invasion of Ukraine. They really hate it when you call out their hypocrisy over corruption in Russia and Chechnya's right to self-determination.

I still have my old standby Yahoo email account. And I look at the news there. I can surf thru and see only what I want, instead of listening to the radio or television prattle thru everything.

My old Yahoo messenger is still there, but I didn't think any chat rooms existed anymore? Once in a while I get a mess from an old friend. Kinda like an ancient facebook. lol.

Yahoo's board will weigh a sale of the business - which some analysts said could be worth in the neighborhood of $4 billion - at a three-day board meeting starting on Wednesday, a source familiar with the matter told Reuters on Tuesday.

Analysts have put little value on the business, with almost all of Yahoo's market capitalization of about $34 billion ascribed to its stakes in Chinese e-commerce company Alibaba Holding Group Ltd and Yahoo Japan Corp.
