look after yourself - if it's intense and lasts more thanan hour ring a helpline or something for advice...trapped kidney/gall stones can get very nasty.

Thanks sweets! I will keep all of that in mind. Lordy! I don't really have any other symptoms, except lower back pain. I am guessing I messed it up, one way or another.

The Bridge really is extraordinarily good, isn't it?

Also, if you haven't been watching Toast of London, slap yourself hard and start watching immediately.

The Danish / Swedish (original) version is great. The female lead reminds me of a girl I went to Uni with.
Like most American adaptations, the American 'The Bridge' wasn't as good.

Currently enjoying The Fall, but I will have to check out Toast of London.

Yes, I watched the whole of the first series. Beautiful. Apparently it's been remade in English?

To sound like an Amazon-bot, if you liked that you will like The Bridge.

Sometimes I wonder if I should get a television set.

yeah, first series was spectacularly beautiful in that distinctly bleak scandinavian kind of way  i felt so cheated when it ended with the flooding and having to wait for the rest. i think it works well in french: a certain intensity and terseness in the diction adds to the overall atmospherics, for my ear at least, and the subtitles don't intrude. the frequent gaps in dialogue probably help that.

watched the last half hour of the bridge. i liked what i saw

nothing wrong with a tv set. you choose what to watch, afterall. besides, what's the difference if you watch programmes/films on your pc's screen anyway?

Good Christ you should.

It was a brand I'd never heard before. And I was anxious to get going.

Got a pound of bangers though. They're delicious. The shop call them "Cumberland sausages", but the owner is from Keswick. I don't know if it's a particular blend of spices, but the are grand.
