King of Jordan warns ISIS conflict is leading towards ‘third world war’

Jordan’s King Abdullah II warned Tuesday of a “third world war against humanity”, describing the Islamic State group as “savage outlaws of religion” in the wake of the Paris attacks.

During an official visit to Kosovo, Abdullah said both Europe and Islam were under attack from the “scourge” of terrorism that could strike anywhere and at any time.

“We are facing a third world war against humanity and this is what brings us all together,” he told a press conference.

“This is a war, as I’ve said repeatedly, within Islam,” he said, stressing the high number of Muslim victims of the Islamic State (IS) group.

Abdullah said groups such as IS “expose themselves daily as savage outlaws of religion, devoid of humanity, respecting no laws and no boundaries”.

“So therefore we must act fast and holistically to tackle and respond to the interconnected threats whether it is in this region, Africa, Asia or in Europe,” he said.

Sounds like a plan to let Jordan lead a reconciliation using his influence with the crazy Gulf to quit funding the Terrorists. It might help if Obama quietly told the Gulf States that they will get sanctioned if they don't.

Let's let Jordan lead this. he after all is the most directly effected.

I believe that if the Saudi's had Jihadist's on their asses, that the Jihadist's would soon be trying to leave Saudi Arabia. I'll bet the Saudi Secret Police probably know who they are and where they live and could round them up in a few days time. Tha t the Saudi's don't do this nowis because it doesn't hurt them at all, however if they had to end the Jihadist threat or not see any of their Billions that they have invested in America or Europe ever again. There would be Jihadist decorating every lamp post in Arabia!

However you missed the whole point of my post. Let Jordan lead the charge, American has only serially fucked up the ME since 1953. Nothing we have attempted inthe region has helped the situation there. Let Jordan lead the Coalition of the Willing. The King is a direct descendant of Mohammad and has some legitimacy in leading Moslems. The Kenyan Usurper does not, American does not, the French do not, even the Saudi's do not have his legitimacy in things Islamic.

I was talking to those who do scream Islam, not you specifically.

If America quietly supported Jordanian leading the willing I think it would put the pressure on the Sunni support to ISIL. Would the coalition be as strong as the 1st Cav and the 4th Infantry Div's, no but with Russian help to Assad and some Iraqi/Iranian air strikes in Anbar, ISIL would be hard pressed to hold on to what they have.

If America/Europe put out sanctions to those who buy oil from ISIS, seized their assets and generally made life difficult for those who dealt with ISIS their revenue would dry up.

Face it the US can only make the situation worse. Maybe Canada should join in the Willing as a Western contributor to the boots on the ground. Your snipers are pretty good.

Our SF might get their hands wet but it will be only during contacts occurring during training. NATO goes in, UN sanctioned maybe but I doubt you will see us in an ad-hoc coalition. Already looking to withdraw from air strikes. UN call to arms or NATO treaty obligations only way Canada will put boots on the ground in ME.

Until oil rebounds, Feds will be looking at ways to save money. Say bye bye to another 10th of a percentage point in defence spending.
