No, my medication hasn't changed, it's just my take on perspective and living in the moment. So much of what we do and who we are begin with the moment just passed. And yet we can't capture that moment, it's here and then it's gone, only a memory of what it was is left for us to use for the upcoming moment.

I have a vivid visual memory. It's a blessing and a curse. I have wonderful pictures of people, places and art in my memories and can recall and reminisce for my own quiet contemplation. But I'll also tend to know the answer to the questions from lazy males who shout to me at the other end of the house... "Where's the cheese."... "Middle shelf, far right side, at the front...in the container with the green lid...right in front of your eyes!"
But I digress...

So much of hanging on to our moments, those we want to remember, involve more that what we saw, as we remember our thoughts at the time, our feelings, how we were made to feel, how we reacted. Our memories are coloured by our thoughts and feelings. How we feel is often as important as what we observe at such times. I wonder how much of this will change as more and more people frantically use phones to document their lives.

Many people record so much of their daily lives with their ever present phones. Does not having a photo of the moment make it any less of a moment? Do we get so caught up in the taking of photos and posting to social media that we lose a part of the moment? Are we so caught up with documenting a moment that we forget to open our hearts and minds to how we felt at the time, thereby altering the moment and our experience of it? Does such activity add or detract from the moment? Does the camera lie? Did we stage a moment for the photo?

See - I want to know WHY it's called a sounding kit, but I am terrified of knowing more than I already do. Good god. That looks horrifying. To each their own and all, but ouch.
