The fact that hundreds of times as many people were ruthlessly gunned down or killed in sick manners in 3rd world shit holes is really irrelevant...happens there all day every day. Paris it's shocking because nice city with generally calm atmosphere....so it's shocking for a lot of folks.

You're annoyed with what you see as over-the top public displays of caring and compassion in this thread. You see it as being a bit disingenuous.
Whereas you and I don't like to put it in words for others to hear about it (we just feel it inside or act).

And I was annoyed too, initially.
Nevertheless, I now think that both parties care just as much about the incident. It's just that some like to keep it more to themselves, and others like to express it and share.

I appreciated it then, and I still appreciate it now.

If someone from Lit was involved, and I spoken to them before, then maybe I would show some empathy. But for someone I don't know and never was going to talk to? Nah, can't do it. A head was found in a garage a couple of blocks up from my house, recently. Do you think them people in Paris showed empathy? No. If I were to get shot right now, will they show empathy? No. They would keep living their lives like nothing happened, why is that? It's because they don't know me. And I don't fucking know them. Just because the tragedy is getting national exposure, I suppose to care a little? Nah,fuck that.
