Shame, there's not much that's as romantic as lying on the rug in front of crackling logs, smelling the wood smoke, seeing the shadows cast by the flames... And it's such a flattering light, makes skin look like liquid caramel...

There is a lodge here on the rim of the volcano...because of the higher elevation and cooler temps...its suites have lovely fireplaces suitable for such sensual explorations.

The is nothing like sharing the heat of a partner...exposed to the crackling flames in the background.

I've always wanted to see a volcano gently erupting - have a plan to dive over to Sicily next time Etna obliges...

It's the full sensory experience, though, isn't it, in front of the fire... The wood smoke, the crackling, the delicious light... And the touching and tasting it encourages...
