What if the "Loving Wives" Category Ceased to Be?

I'm suggesting something I don't believe would ever happen. However, this very fine bit of statistical research by HectorBidon in another thread on this forum does a great job at illustrating the hate-fest of the "Loving Wives" category.

Makes me wonder, what if "Loving Wives" became a closed category? I would suggest, as authors, we could select from any number of other categories as an appropriate place to post a story that included "Married extra-marital fun: swinging, sharing & more." It would be easy to make the case that this heading is overly broad with the sole criteria being "a woman apparently needs to be married."

In a way, the concept of a "Loving Wife" feels rather quaint, doesn't it? In a modern, pluralistic society, does it even make sense to single out a "Loving Wife" as an anomaly?

No, I don't know what would/should happen to the stories already posted under that heading. I'm thinking more about removing the obvious targets for the haters.

Maybe the haters would just flood other categories, but wouldn't they lose their ability to one-up each other? IDK, just a philosophical question. What are your thoughts?

IMHO this is a bad idea. There are those of us who really enjoy posting stories to the LW. I don't mind the trolls. They make me laugh. And for all the negative aspects of the category none of my stories in EC or Group have even half the reads / votes as my stories in LW even though my two Group stories are my highest rated. The ratings are arbitrary and I don't really pay much attention to them.

What I enjoy are the comments and the number of views. Especially the comments. Even the negative ones. I believe that if you touch someone with your story enough they leave a comment, positive or negative, your story is a success.

No, I wouldn't want the LW to go away. It'd be like losing your favorite merry-go-round from the park.

LIT runs on an antiquated category system inadequate for the diversity of themes, quirks, and tropes in our stories. This has been endlessly debated; change to a proper tag system has been promised Real Soon Now for what, a decade? My take: live with it.

An adroit author can pander to or piss-off large proportions of the LW audience. I have both among my highest and lowest rated stories there. My low-score stories usually feature strong skanks of either gender. BTB pushes buttons on both sides -- some love, some hate. In my high-score story, divine intervention killed the cheaters, so their cheated partners cannot be blamed. I'll use the Act-Of-Gawd trope when I want to pander there.

Opinion: LW is too broad a category. Enough swingers and sharers could go in Group Sex. Faithful non-cheating loving wives might do better in Erotic Couplings. Rename LW as Cheating Mates for gross infidelity (all genders), wittols / willing wimps (the mislabeled 'cuck' fetish), gloryholes, and BTB fantasies. If a spouse is penetrated by everything that pokes through the gloryhole, they're probably cheating, yes? And wittols deserve what they get, yes? So feed them to the LW beasts.

Even without renaming or restructuring, we authors can change the category merely by posting elsewhere. Save LW for anything that will really provoke the fucktards. Or when you want a zillion views and comments and don't care about the vote. LW and Incest grab eyeballs. Post there if you want to be read.

The LW category wasn't discussed a lot even in 2010 when I first came here. I've read a lot of pre 2010 LW stories and been amazed that they are....stories.


The category has somehow seriously devolved. I think its because the cuck fetish itself has gone into the sewer. It used to be pretty much guys who liked their wife cheating and got off on it, sometimes openly sometimes secretly, but the point was the wife was getting laid outside the marriage and loving it and so was hubby.

Now...its all about BTB revenge that involves acts of violence against women that would make the non consent readers look like feminist rights supporters and acts of violence against the lovers of the wives that are equally horrific and also the humiliation and degradation the husbands are put through go way beyond fetish and kink into downright sickness.

The site encourages this. Pilot does have a point that it brings a lot of traffic here so Laurel caters to it. But its gotten to where the old style LW stories and authors are bing moved into EC why? Because the trolls are upset those stories don't give them any fodder to really spew. So the site has some responsibility in it being a cesspool.

If the site followed its non consent, sexual torture rules half the BTB stories wouldn't be posted here, but....they do bring out the readers.

The LW category brings nothing but garbage to this site at this point. Every other category here is a kink, whether its a kink we love or hate personally its a kink. I hate non con, but I get it, people have rape/rapist fantasies, okay fine and I don't go read there, why would I?

But the LW crowd comes here to hate, to literally hate. That is now the kink there, hate.

Think about that, think about the type of person who comes here every day to read stories they know are going to make them mad, then they aim that hate at the authors and other readers who they attack as often as they attack the stories.

The LW trolls aren't just the "you suck, stop writing" or "You're sick, get help" trolls. These are the ones spewing racist and homophobic hate, they make cunt/faggot/nigger are three out of the ten words in their vocabulary and they routinely send threats of rape and violence to the authors through private feedback or right there on the boards.

They do not come here to get off, they come here to release all the hatred they can't in real life.

THings like incest and non consent are extreme kinks, they are not for everyone and are either love/hate. But the readers in the categories are mostly supportive with the occasional troll, give them what they want, they are happy for the most part.

Again the readers in LW only get off by getting angry and posting pure malice.

And 80% of that malice is directed at women, the rest maybe towards the boyfriend and some towards the 'wimpy faggot' husband.

The site would be a better place if it were cleaned up. Or it could be dissolved.

The cuck stuff goes into fetish, the BTB into non con, the occasional 'hubby is on board' can go into E/V and group.

Or....the site could make an effort and clean it up, make it habitable for real readers again, but you have a better chance of seeing me writing rape stories than he site making an effort like that.

Misogyny is a big part of erotica, there is an underlying current of disdain right up to hatred of women beneath a lot of porn stories and not just obvious non con things, but stories where women are nothing but drooling cum whores begging for the cock they don't deserve and serving men as it should be. There are varying degres of that of course.

LW feeds the very base nature of that and feeds the very worst of that current and that's why it draws so many readers and that's why it will never be touched and quite the opposite it will be supported here.

Lush stories got rid of incest last year I forget exactly why, I think people kept trying to slip in under age or they were getting some heat for some reason.

Their traffic has declined big time, people left there to come here.

I hate getting the hate comments on LW stories and I've only posted a few. But I have quite a few stories on my laptop that would go to the LW category if I ever finish them.

My take on the people behind the comments, whether they are hateful twisted woman haters who need to be put down before they hurt someone in real life, if they haven't already; Or, if they secretly love the idea of the Missus doing the nasty with someone else, then feel like they have to assert their manhood by ranting, is that their comments say much more about themselves than the author or the story.

And in that context they are worthy of scorn and laughter. The comments that is. Sometimes I worry about any woman that these trolls come into daily contact with. But maybe, just maybe by supplying them with written words to vent their ire on they won't hurt real ladies.
