The Riders is a novel by Australian author Tim Winton published in 1994. It was shortlisted for the Booker Prize in 1995.

I adore Winton's books.

:kiss:N

 my darling.

I hadn't heard of that novel, it does sound intriguing.

Yann Martel's Life of Pi, which did win the Booker in 2002.

I haven't managed to read that one yet either . (Or see the film.)

Done both Naoko! Not disappointed by either. Watched the movie online at youku free too! Amazing for a relatively new movie. Many require payment to view. And I hate it when you settle in, the movie looks good, then after 10 minutes it stops. PAY UP!

Oh I will really try to get onto both, and also Tim Winton's book.

I really wanted to see the film in the cinema, but I should get over it and get it on BluRay. I have got the 43" screen now, anyway - it's practically like being at the cinema, with easy access to my own reasonably priced supply of snacks. :D

LOL, I thought you were talking about the rugby for a minute ... sorry I was just thinking for a moment there about having my own 'back row' of rugby players

Well, we have the IKEA sofabed we built ourselves. It's pretty comfy, and Piggles and I often pull it out to the queen sized bed :) and snug up to watch a film late at night with snacks spread out on a tray.

She leaves crumbs in the bed, though

You rarely hear this song in English. I used to like this version by Kay Star:-
No Regrets

Predictably, it was not widely spread; the great Piaff was too much in peoples memory.

Tio; the English are NOT bitter; our young drink what amounts to Gnats Piss; a ghastly brew made rather like 'lager'.
This may have been due in the most part to the taxes on alcohol, the desire by the Government to restrict widespread drunken orgies (more like battles) and generally be influenced by American Advertising. And the fact that it was cheaper to produce, required very little expertise on the part of the brewer (now replaced by an accountant) and could be sold to anyone under the age of 20 or so.
Fortunately, the micro-breweries, CAMRA and the craft beers movement are changing it back!

I know the English aren't bitter, but I suspect the decent ones might be, for what they missed by not being indecent. But really, I couldn't resist the semantic misinterpretation play.

Who doesn't ?
I gave up eating in bed for that very reason, as I recall;
:):):):)

I'm more of a fan of Asimov, meself, although A E van Vogt interested me greatly at one time.
